These Melitta Disc Coffee Filters for percolators do a great job in reducing the amount of grounds ending up in the brewed coffee brewed with a percolator. I use them with my Farberware percolator and they make a noticeable difference in improving the taste of the coffee by eliminating the bitterness that the coffee grounds can cause.

These filters are especially helpful if your purchase pre-packaged ground coffee (instead of grinding your own coffee) because most pre-packaged ground coffees are ground too fine for percolators.

To get the best result with these filters, 1) be sure to use only one filter at a time (it's easy to accidentally use two or three filters together because these filters are very thin and tend to stick together in the package), and 2) be sure to wet the filter after placing the filter inside the percolator (but before adding the ground coffee) to help create a good seal.

Also, to avoid shipping charges, one can special order these filters from most Ace Hardware stores (with no additional charges) and it will arrive at the store usually within three business days.

it was wonderful to finally find the 3 1/2 inch coffee filter discs - can't find in the grocery store any more!!

These work very well in our new percolator - it makes it easy to clean the used grinds from the container. Wouldn't make a pot of coffee without using one of these, that's for sure!

The filters are fine. I ordered these because percolator filters are hard to find in stores. The price was fine. The problem was shipping - it was about four times the cost of the product!

These filters fit, but I still found grounds in the bottom of my perculator. I went back to brewing without them and saw no real difference. Why bother using them? Save your money.

These filters effectively prevent grounds from falling into percolated coffee, but the 2-4 cup Farberware pot is fairly effective in doing that without a paper filter. The main advantage of these filters is in disposing of the grounds. Personally, I have no problem with a few grounds at the bottom of my coffee mug, but if that kind of thing bothers you, these filters should resolve that issue satisfactorily.

I am so impressed with the service of this Vendor, BIC Superstore. There was initially a problem with my post office accepting the product (filters) that were sent to me, and they returned it back to the vendor. I emailed BIC Superstore, letting them know that the post office returned the Melitta Coffee Filters. I received an email promptly, saying they would try to solve the problem. To make a long story short, I finally received the coffee filters, even though it cost BIC Superstore extra postage to send it. The person, Hanna, sent me a number of emails letting me know the status of the shipment, so that kept me up-to-date. I am thoroughly pleased with this service, especially during a time and age when many vendors do not reply to emails, and definitely will not go the extra route to reship an item if it's an inconvenience. I don't usually write reviews, but I was so impressed with this vendor and their wonderful service in getting my item to me! I want to also thank Amazon for listing a vendor that I could depend on for getting my shipment to me! Also, these coffee filters are great. I've used these before and these really fit the bill when using a percolator. The coffee tastes wonderful, minus all the grinds I had whenever I didn't use the filters.

I just switched from a drip coffee maker to a percolator and I'm happy I did. So I bought these filters based on a recommendation from another reviewer that these would help reduce the amount of grounds that gets thru the filter basket. And they do just that, however, my percolator came with filters that actually wrap completely around the grounds and stop all the grounds from sneaking through. I prefer those to the discs although the discs are very easy to use and are a great value. I would recommend the Melitta Coffee Filters for Percolators, White Wrap Around, 40-Count Filters (Pack of 12) instead if you want to make sure that your coffee is ground-free, otherwise these do a decent job. Both are very affordable, but the discs are cheaper.

I don't always need a filter for my percolator, but when I want a cup of Gevalia (that someone gifted to me!) or other pre-ground coffee, one of these in the bottom of the basket and loads less grounds in my coffee. Perfect fit.

i have a all glass stove top percolator that i use to make our morning coffee. we live full time and cruise extensively on our boat, so having things that do not use power is essential and finding coffee filters in anything other than the cone style has been very difficult so we were very happy to see the disc coffee filters on amazon.com. they help a coffee pot that make great coffee even better by keeping the grounds out of the coffee and the clean up is easier. i hope that amazon will continue to keep these discs in stock.
