Melitta One:One Single Serve Coffee Pod Brewing System

I have used this machine for 2yrs and have been very happy with it. I like the pods in a filter instead of other machines that use plastic cups. I do have to order my pods off the internet but that isn't a problem. There is a vendor that offers free shipping with the order of 6 boxes. Buzzworthy is strong(my first cup in the morning) and I use Parisian Cafe for my second cup. I would like to get this machine in Red.

I won this pot in a raffle. I was so excited because I had been wanting a pod coffee maker. I had to run the clear water thru first, and "pump" it which I did. The book says use the black pod holder for coffee, and the silver pod holder for tea. Well it only had a silver pod holder. I went online and saw a video of a woman making coffee using the Melita, and she too had the silver pod holder only. I put the pod in, turned the machine on and pushed the 8 oz cup. The coffee was horrible. It is not hot, just warm. It drips like crazy! My Mr. Coffee makes a better cup!Very dissappointed!

I was using a Senseo pod coffee maker and bought some Melitta pods as they have a greater variety of flavors. The Melitta pods are too thick to work with the Senseo and when I sent an email to Melitta to tell them about that (they claim their pods will fit all pod machines) they offered me a free machine. I accepted and I do not like it at all as compared to the Senseo. First the coffee temp on the Melitta is a lot lower than on the Senseo so my coffee fresh out of the machine comes out only a little hotter than warm. Secondly I really like the foamy head on the Senseo cup of coffee and the Melitta does not have this. Third, the water jug drips as you carry it from the faucet to the coffee pot and and finally you can only put one pod in the holder so if you want strong, travel mug sized cup of coffee you have to brew one pod on the strong setting, remove, discard, and repeat. I have stopped using the free Melitta machine and gone back to my Senseo.
