Using your own coffee saves money, and gosh they are so cute!!

It is cheaply made, and no matter what I tried always ended up with grounds in my cup.

These filters work great when using the java jig in my Keurig coffee brewer.

I bought the Javajig and filters as an alternative to the mesh reusable K-cup. Unlike one of the other reviewers, I have had no problems whatsoever with the filters tearing or breaking open during brewing. I also like that the cleanup consists of just removing the filter and tossing it in the compost bin -- no mesh cup to rinse out. One of the other reviewers complained that you can't fill up the filter with grounds, but with a K-cup you cannot put the grounds in above the mesh line either. When I use a K-cup, I put in the max amount of grounds (up to the mesh line) but am finding that I can get the same amount of grounds in the Javajig/filter. I am very happy with this product and highly recommend to K-cup users.

Like most of the others listing reviews, I really like the Javajig. I have used the insert Keurig sells and the Ekocup but this is the best option to the K cup that I have found. I do have one possible improvement. I like my coffee strong and the open bottom on the Javajig allows the coffee to flow through so quickly that the coffee is weaker than I would like.

I took a used K cup and pulled off the foil top and the filter on the inside. I then cut about 1/16 inch off the top (just below the molded ridge)(a knife works better than scissors), leaving a small cup with the small hole in the bottom, that was punched by the needle of the Keurig. I put the green Javajig cup inside this cutoff cup and used the Javajig as usual. When placing the Javajig in the Keurig, I just turned it so the hole in the bottom aligned with the needle. (It's easier than it sounds). The coffee stays in the Javajig longer and is stronger (like the K cup) than the Javajig alone. You can wash the cutoff K cup and use it over and over.

These are twice the price in my local grocery stores. They are perfect for using with the Melitta Javajig coffee holder in my Keurig.

The one thing I have noticed, though, that the Keurig pin does not puncture the paper filter so it takes longer for the coffee to drain through - just be patient because it is worth it.

I actually prefer the coffee this way than through a K-cup (and SO much cheaper) or my 14 cup Cuisinart coffeemaker. It has a nice and mild flavor which is what I want and I use Maxwell House Breakfast Blend for that reason.

I realized I was paying way too much for K-cups. I drink a lot of coffee, which keeps my ADHD self from having to take prescriptions. These filters have enabled me to make cup after cup using ground coffee, thus saving me a ton of money. I don't suggest using the plastic filter these are intended for. It is cheaply made, and no matter what I tried always ended up with grounds in my cup. Many grounds. Instead, use them with they gray re-usable platic filter sold by Keurig. I place one of these under the enclosed re-usable ground basket then push it down into the carrier. Rarely any grounds in my cup, and when there are it is only a few.

Melitta's got a good idea, but their execution is awful. Filters are too porous and produce lots of sediment in coffee. The filters are also too short in that they don't come up high enough over the jig, adding even more sediment, regardless of the type or amount of coffee used. I'd say it's back to the drawing board on this one, and I would not purchase or use this item if or until it's been redesigned.

So how do you balance the ease of brewing with the Keurig and a desire to be a little more waste conscious? Answer, the Melitta Java Jig. You save money and only thrown out biodegradable material (two wins). These filters work great (just follow the directions) and you avoid the coffee grounds in the bottom of your cup when using a mesh coffee holder.

I love my Keurig brewer but those little K-cups were getting to be quite expensive. I had been looking for alternativs but couldn't see myself spending $15 on a Keurig filter cup and instead found these little Javajig filters in my local grocery store. Well, I picked them up and fell in love with them. Since my local store only sold the package of 2 holders and filters, I was happy to find the filters only on Amazon and ordered two boxes, which should hold me about two months, and save me tons of money!

Problems I have had with other Keurig alternative cups always had too much sediment left over, and flavor not very good. With the Java Jig, the paper filters much better, but use a fine grind to get the most flavor. Still some sediment, but very minor.
