This is an excellent debut CD. It has both RnR & Americana songs. She went to England, and took a song-writing course from none-other-than Ray Davies (yes, of the Kinks).

One of her songs, "Sweet Christine" won 1st place in a national contest in Nashville.

She has been inspired by The Who, Neil Young, The Kinks, The Band, Elvis Costello, Tom Petty, The Pretenders, Lucinda Williams, The Hollies, The Byrds, Warren Zevon and The Raspberries to name a few.

Gini has 2 other CD's, so far, which followed MellowDrama, they are called: Good Medicine, and Jangle Twangle. Both are just as excellent.

Believe me, ALL of the songs she writes are HIT-WORTHY, in the best sense of the word.

If the music business was fair, this woman would be doing a worldwide tour, in large clubs, theatres, and arenas. She is a top notch songwriter/singer/musician. These are HIT SONGS, but in the BEST sense, as in: Beatles, Kinks, Elvis Costello, Pretenders, Lucinda Williams, Sheryl Crow, etc. A phenomenal debut. There is also a brand new CD, Good Medicine, which is just as fantastic. Unbelievable, but BELIEVE it.

I really enjoyed this disc. The lyrics and music are very original. Some of it has a alt-country bent to it but I also notice a 60's british feel. The backing band is excellent and Gini's voice really gives the lyrics passion. A definite must buy.
