Great tone, impeccable intonation. Very interesting selections, many of which I've never heard on bass trombone before. One of the warmest sounds I've ever heard. If you're a trombone player this is a must have.

Anyone with even the slightest interest in music should be sure to listen to Randy Hawes playing bass trombone on Melodrama. His sound is the smoothest, darkest, and most expressive I have ever heard. Pitches are beautifully centered, and Randy gives the bass trombone a sense of melody and flexibility that is rarely found on this instrument. Those used to hearing the bass trombone as the power player of an orchestra will be pleased and surprised to hear the wonderful variety of compositions and styles. Teachers of trombone and school music teachers should be sure to have their students listen to Randy's playing for an example of the best this instrument has to offer.
