5.0 out of 5 stars Great music from a great film
Great music by BeeGees brings back memories of the wonderful 1971 British movie Melody (directed by Waris Husain) starring Tracy Hyde,Mark Lester and Jack Wilde. The songs are excellently composed and sung by BeeGees. 'In the morning' and 'Melody Fair' are worth a special mention. Hard to find CD (and even harder to find movie)

3.0 out of 5 stars You Must Be A Huge Fan
Considering that this was the first soundtrack of many to use the music of the Bee Gees is enough of an 'avert'. However, there are really only five songs by the Gibbs. The rest are reprised (well enough to satisfy). "CSN&Y" provide their great "Teach Your Children", but the rest of the soundtrack sounds greatly dated. I have mixed feelings...

5.0 out of 5 stars Wonderful songs from magical movie, September 8, 2000

I have lately been looking everywhere for this film and turned all of the videos I have come acrossed in Europe while I visited the place. Most people don't even know of this movie and I wonder how they could be missing out on a movie like this and so glad to have watched movies like Speed or Matrix. This is what I truely call a movie and combining with the songs available in the movies it's just magnificent. The voice of Beegees makes this movie live forever. I have found this film though. If you want to know where you can get yourself a copy.. write me .. I think I can help Dan@ethailand.com

5.0 out of 5 stars why isn't this on dvd yet? just shows people are out of it, February 15, 2001

Pre-Disco Bee Gee's soundtrack has mellow pop element that makes you fall in love with no one in particular, and anyone who has seen the movie and still rates it with less than 5 stars has got to be too callused and cynical to enjoy life anyways. some of you entertainment people who are reading this: here's an opportunity to make lots of money...just get this out on dvd--there are a legion of 30-40 year olds on this planet who will plonk down their 25 bucks a pop for this classic cult film. Showed my wife this movie for the first time a while back and she said it was the best movie she's ever seen, with tears in her eyes, no less... goes to show that the film is potent not just with 10 year olds.

5.0 out of 5 stars A Truly Wonderful Movie!, September 9, 2000

I watched this movie in Buenos Aires, Argentina way back when and have to say it really made an impact on me. I was about 11 years young at the time. A great story about innocent love at its sincerest...I have been trying to find this movie on VHS but have had no luck...If anyone knows where I can find it, please let me. The music from the BeeGees made me one of their fans at the age of 11...here I am at almost 40 and they are still one of my all time favorites! Thanks, rhbjr13@aol.com

5.0 out of 5 stars Info on where to get the movie, February 27, 2004
This review is from: Melody (1971 Film) (Audio CD)
To the people requesting info on where to get this movie. You should go to an auction site like ebay.com, they always have the movie used in VHS format. At this very moment (Friday-feb-27-2004)they have three or four copies auctioned.

On the other hand, this CD and the movie are really great. The movie is by far the best movie I've ever seen in my whole life, and the music composed by the BG's is an early sample of the greatness to come.

"Melody" (DVD) with Mark Lester is now available at amazon.co.jp at Yen 3,800. The soundtrack CD is also available at the same website. For those who cannot read Japanese, do not worry, you just need to sign in and follow the same instruction as in any amazon.com sites.

4.0 out of 5 stars REAL LOVE AT ITS BEST, August 8, 2000
By
Marlon Urbina (Maracay, Venezuela) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Melody (1971 Film) (Audio CD)
I watched this movie when I was 12 years old. And the message about how love should be shown and be felt was so innocent, so believable, so impeccable that back then I felt I could just love anybody. Just a great feeling from a different time. The funny thing about this movie was that I was talking to this friend of mine. She was telling me the story and I told her if the name of the movie was MELODY. She jumped out of her chair and freaked out. The reason was that none of the friends she had talked about the movie had seen it, or even had heard of it. So It was one of those things that happened once in a lifetime. I wonder if someone knows where I could find the videotape. If you have any info about how to purchase a copy, please contact me as soon as possible.
