I am a Music Therapist working with different populations. I havebeen using the 1983 edition of The Melody Book and was delighted to find a new edition, incorporating old favorites and adding new ones. The songs/melodies are wonderful selections, all singable, in appropriate keys, and are of such wonderful variety! As I looked through this book time after time I thought, "THERE that song is! I've been looking and looking--and now I have found it!" I marvel at how much work must have gone into collecting these songs. The background notes are interesting and add to the enjoyment. Various movements/dances are in easy-to-follow format. As in the 1983 book, the index is also great! I wish I could afford to give this book to my music therapist friends. I will certainly recommend it!

The purchasing process went very well but the book itself was less than expected for an autoharp beginner.
Maybe someday when I learn more about the harp.

I am a Music Therapist and I have been using this book (2nd edition) off and on since 1996. It has every song you've ever heard of growing up and more. At the end each song is indexed by instruments, number of chords required to play each song, and by genre, which makes finding an appropriate song much easier! I have always loved this book!

I bought The Melody Book because it is a required textbook for a class I am taking. I ordered this book about a month ago and it finally came. I've needed it for class before now but have had to make due - the shipping on the item says to give it an extra 9-13 days... That time span came and went a while back.
This book arrived damaged. I paid for NEW because I wanted a high quality, no hidden defects, item. It looks as if this book was made without a back cover and they had to try and put the cover on as an afterthought. Because of its poor construction, the back cover is also RIPPED along the binding.
I would return this item, but as I have stated before, I need the item NOW and this will have to do. However, I am extremely disappointed in my purchase.
