Book Description

Las Vegas Quartet Book June 10, 2005
Lovers reunite in Nevada's city of sin, scandal, and sleaze, Las Vegas. Melody is a stripper who's running from a splendid and sordid past, and Georgie wants to recapture the bygone days of his erotic youth. He'll do anything Melody asks; he is her slave as they drive deep into sexual perversity and crime noir. This is the first installment in a set of four sinful stories.

5.0 out of 5 stars A stripped down look at humanity at its worst, August 15, 2010
This review is from: Melody: Las Vegas Quartet Book I (Paperback)
When I was writing the back cover blurb for This Other Eden, I called it Hemmingson at his most brutal. Then I read this book and realized that my Dybbuk Press book with all of its crack and rape and incest was Hemmingson on a good day after eating an ice cream cone and talking to an old friend who hasn't been around lately.

I haven't read many of Hemmingson's books so I'm not going to say if this one is Hemmingson at his most brutal but it's definitely brutal. This book tells the story of a man who gets out of jail to see his old girlfriend. His habits are never under control and his old girlfriend is a messed up stripper. As soon as they are together she's involving him in murder and robbery plots and just as you think it can't spin any more out of control, it does.

This is a great book about terrible people written with Hemmingson's characteristic stripped down prose. Definitely recommended.

As far as crime noir goes, this is an excellent read. I suggest it to any fans of Hemingson, or crime noir. Great.
