Melonhead returns with rapid-fire narration and adventure. His overly doting mother goes to outlandish heights to feed her “darling boy” more vegetables. Melonhead finds a seemingly perfect way to avoid them without hurting her feelings, but the plan backfires dramatically. Meanwhile, the arrival of a new girl, Pip, invokes jealousy in his pal Lucy Rose and disrupts his circle of friends. Pip is funny and smart and uses a wheelchair. While the other children easily accept her disability, the adults needlessly and humorously hover until Pip sets them straight. Fans will welcome the solid addition to the series.
