Editorial Reviews

Sunshine, sarcastic, and sullen, Brass Bed are a quartet of wide-eyed pop dreamers rifling through record bins and churning out recordings that double as rock and roll history lessons. Born and raised in Lafayette, Louisiana, their music elevates the unrestrained power pop of Big Star and the guitar heroics of Television with the 60's pop revivalism of bands like Dukes of the Stratosphear and the Elephant 6 collective. Their songs speak with a voice that is both thoroughly modern and reverent of the past.

5.0 out of 5 stars Do you like modern day pop? You'll love Brass Bed! April 5, 2011
Format:Audio CD|Verified Purchase
Once in awhile you stumble accross an artist where you go "why don't folks know who they are?" Brass Bed to me is one of those kinds of bands. They make catchy songs ala' Delta Spirit or Dr. Dog where after a few spins, their tunage is crawing around in your skull and will be there to stay for a long long time. The entire album blends slower songs with more upbeat items to even include one "rocker".

To me, i also hear a bit less mainstream Rooney to their style of music as well. (a better songwriting Rooney?)

One of modern era of old school sounding pop worth giving a listen!

4.0 out of 5 stars An unexpectected but nontheless pleasant surprise October 24, 2010
Format:Audio CD
Just about as lovely as the Three O'Clock and maybe better than Permanent Green Light. If you know what I'm saying then you know what I'm saying. This is fresh out of the oven power pop sitting to cool on the windowsill. Steal it before somebody else does. It's tasty.

5.0 out of 5 stars So good! December 22, 2010
By Erin
Format:Audio CD|Verified Purchase
We love this album. My son and I especially like the line in one song, "I just want to destroy her...with a predicate clause!" It's pretty contagious, and I find myself singing it when I didn't even realize I was thinking about it. My only regret is not having one for the house and one for each vehicle. Guess I'll be ordering more copies!

5.0 out of 5 stars Great follow up August 30, 2012
Format:Audio CD
This a great great follow up to Brass Bed's debut album. It has a bit more twang. People Want to be Happy is my favorite track. I can't wait for their new album
