The Melting Pot and UTEE---An Idea Book, February 18, 2009
This review is from: Melt art impressions
****
This is a short (35 pages), chock-full of ideas full-color book about Melt Art or UTEE (Ultra Thick Embossing Enamel) written back in 2002 when the Melting Pot was first available. It is newer than the author's previous book "Totally Impressed Stamp Art", which is also about UTEE. This book includes not only the Melting Pot, but Mold 'N Pour, but was written before UTEE flex was developed. Only slightly dated, the ideas are fresh and would be helpful to anyone interested in Melt art.
There are 15 different techniques described, including dipping the rubber stamp into the UTEE, pouring UTEE onto a craft sheet and stamping, making UTEE flowers, using CDs, working with push molds, working with shrink plastic, working with cookie cutters, faux dichroic glass, and more!
I gave this book 4 stars instead of 5 just because it is a little dated. Still, if you are into UTEE, as I am, you will enjoy learning everything you can about it, and sources to do so are few and far between.
Definitely recommended.
