5.0 out of 5 stars "You HAVE to Hear This!"
There is a phenomenon known as the "Pod Person" review. This is when an adult is so impressed with a movie, book or CD that is ostensibly intended for children that they start trying to sell other ADULTS on it as well.

For example, when the movie TOY STORY came out, every adult I knew would ask if I had seen it. "Oh, you HAVE to," the Pod Person would...

3.0 out of 5 stars Very cute, but not my personal fave
Nice job Justin Roberts - cute CD (but I like the They Might Be Giants kids CDs much better... can't articulate why, just do).

"Oh, you HAVE to," the Pod Person would exclaim, "it's not just for kids!" As you can imagine, this is mildly annoying.

I swore never to be a Pod Person, and if it wasn't for Justin Roberts, I would keep that promise. But after listening to this bright, breezy, funny, infinitely catchy and wonderfully crafted album, I want to encourage every adult I know to give it a spin. MELTDOWN is just darned good pop music. It'll have you and the kids singing along and laughing.

Tell a friend.

5.0 out of 5 stars Mommy & Baby music, February 6, 2007

I highly recommend this CD! It is a true example of music that BOTH kids and adults can love. Justin Roberts has a real instinct for children's concerns (e.g. "maybe the monster's afraid of me") but the music is so fun, funny and rockin' that I enjoy listening to it again and again. It's a relief to get away from Old MacDonald!

Justin Roberts has a very keen sense about how kids think, and is able to translate that knowledge into catchy pop music for children that won't make you want to gouge your ears out.

In fact, it made me want to listen to all his other CDs right away. If he knows that when I say "just a minute, it means more than just a minute", what other little secrets of parents or kids might he be onto?! I might get some tips on the preschooler psyche from him! But even if I don't, I'm sure to have a rockin' good time with my kids.

5.0 out of 5 stars Justin Roberts Rocks!, January 23, 2007
This review is from: Meltdown (Audio CD)
My kids and I (3 and 4)absolutely love his music. I know all the words to all the albums by heart. My son rides the school bus and currently loves "Yellow Bus" from same titled album. I would love to take the kids to see Justin perform. All his songs from upbeat to mellow are just great. I even listen to the songs without the kids in the car.

5.0 out of 5 stars We love Justin Roberts, October 19, 2010

We originally received this cd, along with another Justin Roberts CD and a Barenaked Ladies kids cd, as gifts for our son when he turned 1. We liked them all very very much (our son is now 20 months and has long since learned to ask for all the songs he wants to hear by name).
This order was for a gift for twins turning two. We picked this one for the birthday song. There are so many great kids cds- but you really can't go wrong with Justin Roberts. The songs are fun for kids of many ages (older kids will understand the song meanings/humor along with enjoying the music) and adults alike.
Highly recommended!

4.0 out of 5 stars really fun, May 5, 2008
This review is from: Meltdown (Audio CD)
I like this CD alot- not quite as much as I hoped I would after being inspired to buy by his song on the Putamayo Folk Playground CD- which we loved. But still, it's a great kids CD and is in heavy rotation at our house.

4.0 out of 5 stars Good, fun music, May 9, 2007

This is a great kids' album. It has fun, simple music that will appeal to most younger kids and their parents. It's not another karaoke-ish version of Old MacDonald, eesh. We have kids from 3-10 and our whole family likes it.

I ordered this based on a review I read on Justin Roberts. I had never heard him actually sing before. My daughter loves this album, and I find myself singing right along as well. His songs are catchy, humorous, and tell about life from a kid's point-of-view very well. I highly recommend it!

4.0 out of 5 stars Great for kids!, February 12, 2007
This review is from: Meltdown (Audio CD)
We play this CD at Lakeshore (a children's store) all the time and it's very catchy. The music is upbeat, pleasant and fun to listen to. So far kids and parents alike love this music. And of course, it's educational.

5.0 out of 5 stars Justin plays great music!, December 6, 2006

You could forget the kid story lyrics but then you would be missing out on some of his sly references put there for parents. The music is just great Music. My kids love this album! And all of Justin's albums... but they had to wait to hear it until after I was ready to let them listen to it- I was too busy listening to it on the way to work and on the way back!

Best songs:
My Brother Did it
Maybe the Monster
Taking off my training wheels
and More than just a Minute which sounds a lot like Graceland-era Paul Simon, has great lyrics and comes in at just more than a minute.

I bought this album and within a day had bought all the rest! then I started recommending it to my friends who like good music- even if they didn't have kids. And they all love it!

On top of that I took my family to see him while we were in Chicago- and he is a great guy! He even dedicated a song for our sons.

Buy it now you won't regret it all!!
