This book is an amazing work of storytelling on the author's part. The detail that he gives you for tracing the families he is reporting on is so wonderful to anyone trying to follow their roots.

Excellent! I am a descendant of the Appalachia and this book is just a piece of what really happened in our country's history. Jack Goins has had to of spent hundreds of hours researching and getting facts of what really went on in these times. I am also a Goins. I descended from Virginia.
