5.0 out of 5 stars Most Excellent!, July 11, 2008
This review is from: Memoirs of a Cold War Colonel: A look into an Intelligence Officer's thirty year career (Paperback)
Although this is my brother's book, I thoroughly enjoyed it and have loved watching how it has developed. He and Peggi had a wonderful marriage that was cut short with Peggi's passing.
I found things out about my family that I was not aware of, mainly because I was 12 years younger.
This book was a work of love for Bill and I hope all enjoy it that read it.

5.0 out of 5 stars Well Written and Relevant Even Today: A Must-Read!, December 24, 2011
This review is from: Memoirs of a Cold War Colonel: A look into an Intelligence Officer's thirty year career (Paperback)
I must say that not only is Memoirs of a Cold War Colonel a well-written book, but it is even relevant today. In May of 2007, the Russian foreign minister, Sergei Lavrov, declared that the Cold War arms race had restarted, 24 hours after Russia announced it had tested a missile capable of breaking through any planned US missile shield. He went on to say that "strategic stability" was being damaged by America's plans to erect a "Son of Star Wars" shield able to shoot down enemy missiles. Indeed, we are headed for some very unstable times. As they say "history repeats itself." If you want the history and want to know what it was like to actually live during this time, first-hand from a military man who's career spanned the first Cold War, this book is a must-read!

This is an amazing and wonderful story of true events that have taken places in the political cold war. There are details and cliffhangers that you wish Bill could have shared. Worth contacting him to ask! The message and meaning here that I received, was how a true man of honor kept his family and love for them, priority one, while serving his country and keeping the peace. Thank you for you service and commitment my fellow veteran. Coach Jon Hartman <...> Life On~Bring it On! Are you living your Best Life?
