This review is from: Memorable Quotations: American Presidents of the Past (Kindle Edition)
This is a great book for everyone who loves history.
Some of my favorite quotes include: John Adams: "I agree with you that in politics the middle way is none at all." Grover Cleveland: "What is the use of being elected or reelected unless you stand for something?" Calvin Coolidge: "The nation which forgets its defenders will be itself forgotten." Dwight D. Eisenhower: "May we never confuse honest dissent with disloyal subversion." Herbert Hoover: "There are only three ways to meet the unpaid bills of a nation. The first is taxation. The second is repudiation. The third is inflation." Thomas Jefferson: "I have not observed men's honesty to increase with their riches." |
