great picture - love the battery life! First purchase of this kind and am pretty happy with it.

negatives: If you pick up the machine during play it often pops the top open - needing you to start the whole process again.

Can be loud when powering up. Sometimes the audio does not match the mouths of the actors speaking. (like a bad lip sync)

remote has to be right up to machine to be effective.

Best Screen/Picture! Best sound! Convient remote!

I can't tell if it died on it's own or if it was my fault. It ran great forever, never had a problem until today when I went to clean the screen... It finished it's last dvd while I was cleaning it just fine! But then I went to change out the disk and the new dvd (tried more then one) would not load! It just kept telling me "No Disk" I tried taking the disks out, blowing any dust out & unplugging and blowing dust out. No luck. I guess I have to retire it.

I definetly got my monies worth out of it though! No complaints & would definetly buy the same make & model again!

My logic was buy this portable one as my sole DVD player & then unplug for our 2 hour car trips when we visit family. The battery life on this bad boy is amazing! Came with all the accessories you need & even had this nifty remote! The remote was my favorite part, made it very easy to remove subtitles, and a feature that would allow you to "repeat" the same disk over & over. Nice for those half hour kid disks that they don't mind watching again, and again w/o having to pull over to switch it out for them!

I only wish I could still find this model in the store... I bought mine at a Target 3 years ago... They don't carry them anymore.

The only con I can think of to add is that: The disk door is a wee bit sensitive. Sometimes when I would close it I'd have to tap it once to get it to load. But that's all. It wouldn't skip if we hit a bump in the road or anything like that... Just if you're gonna be holding it in your lap make sure your not putting your thumb over the door & accidently touch it, because that might cause interference with the disks play.

Initially, my only complaint was that there is no way to rewind or fast forward without using the remote.

But then, after about 6 months, it kept randomly claiming that the DVD door was open even when it wasn't. Really annoying when you're in the middle of watching a DVD.

We had this DVD player for about 3 months before it quit working. Memorex failed to fulfill the warranty and we are now out $180.

This was an expensive unit and used almost daily. It ran perfectly for 2 full years. Sound is excellent. Good remote features. Battery held charge for 2 hours for a movie feature. Recently a message of "battery low" came onto the screen and shut the unit down -while the adapter was plugged into the wall - no battery was attached! When the battery was charged and installed in the unit for the movie - the "battery low" message once again came on. I called Memorex and they said it must be an internal glitch that probably could not be repaired. Can not find a replacement battery (if that is the issue to fix this). This product however, has been a great investment for a two year run with daily use. I recommend this unit and the 10" screen was perfect for viewing.

For years I had a 7" player that finally bit the dust and the screen on this Memorex model seems mammoth in comparison! The on-unit controls could be a bit more intuitive, but the remote is a standard layout. The sound is like any other small player that I've viewed, adequate, but not it's best feature. Overall an ideal unit for viewing DVDs within 18-24 inches. I haven't yet run it off of the battery, so I can't rate that feature.

My only problem with this product is that I am having a difficult time getting a clear picture {setting contrast versus brightness}. Otherwise I really like it.
