Having past experience with Lightscribe drives, this drive was easy to use. Although Amazon packaged it loosely and I feared it wouldn't work when I opened it, it operates just as it should.

Easy to use: just install the software with the disc that's included and follow the directions. My only problem was the file type I originally tried to burn with. It would tell me my DVD was done before it even scribed anything onto it. After I changed it to a JPG it worked just fine!

This producy includes a stand so it can also be on its side, but I'm guessing it operates better laying down.

Great product if your computer is too full for an internal drive.

I received the Memorex MRX-530LE CD/DVD Recorder as a Christmas gift. This burner is FANTASTIC! It is very easy to use. I have already burned close to 60 DVD's without any problems. I have used the LightScribe feature on about 20 of the discs with no problems. I must admit, the Lightscribe feature is a bit slow but it is not a big deal. I have not had any discs with errors. The Nero software that comes with the burner is easy to use and install. This burner burns quickly. I was considering buying an HP burner but I'm glad I was given the Memorex. This burner also burns dual layer discs at only 8X speed. Not a big deal to me. I highly recommend this burner without reservation. My only regret is why I didn't purchase one long ago. This burner feels solid, not flimsy. It feels well constructed. For all of you considering a DVD/CD burner you can't go wrong with the Memorex MRX-530LE. It is a great investment that will pay for itself after a handfull of burns.

I have a Mac Mini (Mac OS X) which came to me with the iMovie and iDisc software installed. My system had the CD burner capabilities but not the DVD burner. I was looking for something I could just plug in and burn. It worked amazingly well with my software. I have limited space on my hard-drive so I was reluctant to install the software that comes with the unit. I did notice however, that the software provided offers the label etching feature which I would find quite useful. It burned the DVD (15 mins long) within a half an hour timeframe and it was DVD player compatible. Would totally recommend this unit for anyone looking for a Mac compatible burner.

While some folks have had good luck with this burner, mine failed after a few months. I used it mostly to burn lightscribe labels onto DVDs created on my internal drive. After about 15 burns, it stopped mid burn and no longer works. Will not read much less write! Unfortunately I bought two of them. The other is for my wifes old laptop, and she simply has not used it yet. Hope she has better luck than I. FYI - the software was easy to use with a decent interface. All was good until the thing just broke. Too inexpensive to have fixed.

100% satisfied with this burner. Other reviews said it was loud and vibrated alot. They must be kidding. Mine is silent and vibration free. I can't even tell it is on. I have been burning movies for over a month now with no problems at all. Even the LightScribe program works awesome. You won't go wrong with this burner. I recommend it to everyone.

The drive itself works well, but is VERY slow. Probably because it is connected through the USB port. I am not a big fan of the NERO software that came with the drive. It has cluttered up my screen with unknown icons and the software itself is awkward to use. The device but find some other software to use with it.

I returned a slim-line USB powered DVD+-RW DL because it would not work on my notebook or desktop. Easy and quick return for full refund, thanks to Amazon. I then purchased the Memorex DVD+-RW DL and it has performed outstanding! Burns 4GB in 6-to-11 mins and 7.5GB in 16 mins, plus verification. I have not had a learning problem with H/W or S/W. It has its own PS which was a problem with the prev DVD trying to operate with my notebook. This drive is performing as promised/advertized.

I've had this multi drive for a few months. No problems. Working great. This is just my own fillings about the light scribe feature. It also works good, but I prefer to Ink print on the dvd disks with my Epson 1400 printer that prints on disks. I like my backup disks to look original.

Bought this drive to take the pressure off of the internal drive in my notebook. When it works, it is fast. But many times it errors out and I have to throw away the DVD. I'm using a Vista machine, and I think it's just not that compatible, even after downloading and installing the newest firmware. Probably wouldn't recommend to a friend or buy it again.
