In addition to the quality CD player, the MD5585 also offers a FM/AM receiver. Tune into your favorite radio stations as you commute or exercise. With ten FM and ten AM presets, choosing your most listened to stations is a cinch. Much like the CD player, this radio receiver offers a deep bass sound.
The player runs on two AA batteries, either alkaline or rechargeable. Typical alkaline batteries will last for approximately twenty hours. For unlimited listening, use the included AC adaptor. Other notable features include: resume, 8X digital oversampling and a one-bit D/A converter. The casing is heat-resistant and the casing's color is a modern black and silver.
What's in the Box

STUFF I LIKED:1) it has a radio! its awesome, so that if you get bored of CDs, theres always the radio there to listen to. reception was decent from where i was...some stations better than others. it even partially worked for a while underground in the subway lol. 2) sound quality in general is perfectly fine. it has enough options -the basics, play stop pause skip etc, and some program song things and random shuffle, intro, repeat, repeat all. im not that into hi tech stuff, so maybe to other people who are used to all sorts offancy buttons this may be a disappointment, but it was perfectly fine for me, perfectly servicable and adequate. 3) great anti-skip thing -45 seconds. it hasnt skipped at all so far with the antishock thing on, even running a bit. and you even have the option to turn it off if you want. pretty cool. 4) it has a "low battery" display thing to warn you. THINGS I DIDNT LIKE: so overall, a really great buy...very affordable especially for all its features and stuff. i shopped around a lot before choosing this cd player, and im happy with my decision.

I got this CD/Radio player as a gift, unpacked it, set it on the desk at my work and accidentally pulled it off the desk by moving away from it while wearing headphones. The player dropped to the floor, the CD player quit working. I exchanged it at the store for a new one. The new one lasted about 2 weeks, and maybe got dropped twice (by now i had bought a pouch for it to strap it to my waist and also to buffer any further falls). After that and maybe two more drops, the CD player was broken again. I still use it for the radio and have no complaints there, but of course it is a bulky portable radio only...
