Product Description

Amazon.com Product Description

The Memorex MD6885-03 is a personal CD player which plays audio CDs, plus CD-R and CD-RW discs. This simple and affordable CD player sports a bass boost system which produces a richer sound, especially when using headphones. The MD6885 offers a forty-five second anti-skip system, perfect for those who listen to their player while jogging, walking or commuting on the bumpy bus. It is possible to hook up this player to a home stereo or boom box via the line-out jack. With the right optional equipment, the MD6885 would be a nice option for those wishing to use their personal CD player as a CD car stereo. With four play modes (normal, repeat, shuffle and twenty-one track program) there are many options to listen to your favorite CDs. The full digital LCD display will keep you up-to-date on track and time information.

In addition to the quality CD player, the MD6885 also offers a FM/AM receiver. Tune into your favorite radio stations as you commute or exercise. With ten FM and ten AM presets, choosing your most listened to stations is a cinch. Much like the CD player, this radio receiver offers a deep bass sound.

The player runs on two AA batteries, either alkaline or rechargeable. Other notable features include: resume, 8X digital oversampling and a one-bit D/A converter. The black, rubberized casing is heat-resistant and helps protect the player from minor scratches and bumps.

What's in the Box
Memorex MD6885-03 personal CD player, stereo headphones, user's manual and a ninety day warranty.

This wasn't worth what I paid for it, and I had free shipping on it. It's decent if you don't use it much, but I frequently use this item when I jog or in my pickup because it doesn't not have an onboard CD player. The headphones with it are horrible, and the little plastic window over the CD comes out if you aren't careful with it. The skip protection is decent, and the AM/FM digital tuner has decent range of reception. Overall, it's not a very good product.

This CD player is not really that good. As Memorex is the #1 brand of CD-Rs, the have a lot of trouble with television sets and CD players. The CD player has lasted only 2 months. After that 2 months, the top of the CD player would not close. I had to use invisible tape to fix it, and now it looks ridiculous. Other people have had the same problem with this and other Memorex brand CD players. The AM/FM radio is a nice addition. The radio does have a lot of static. Not static like "Oh well, I could move it a few inches and there would be no fuzz." They kind of static that will make the radio (FM really has this problem) fail completely. There says there is skip protection, but it takes 45 secs to read the tracks of the CD (I think it takes longer than advertised, like 60 secs), and then you have to wait another 45 secs when you skip something. THAT IS NOT SKIP-PROTECTION!!! Skip-protection is something that makes your CD player not skip AT ANY TIME. Whether you change the track or not. The headphones that comes with it are [useless]. I would buy an extra pair. Overall, I think Memorex should stick to blank CD-Rs and CD-RWs until they can make a good CD player.

CD Player - 4/5
Radio - 3/5
Headphones - 1/5
Skip Protection - 1/5
Construction - 2/5
Overall - 2/5 (2.2/5)
