This boombox is the best i have ever owned. the sound quality is excellent and it is nice and small. more portable than most boomboxes. the batteries seem to last forever, as well. the outward-facing speakers make a difference too. i take it to the beach with me and it almost creates a surround sound effect. i love this CD player. Also, i can get this one to play many of my CDRW's and CDR's. That's a definate plus!

I purchased the Memorex MP 3131 as Christmas present for my daughter. The unit sounds clear as a bell and the digital tuner picks up all the radio stations from the city 26 miles away! I am pleased with the shape and size of the MP 3131; It's smaller than most of the other units in the price range and doesn't resemble a slug. The angled speakers enhance the stereo separation adding to the listening enjoyment. I can't wait till Christmas... so I can tinker with it again!

I purchased one of these for our 11 year old's birthday, now I'm back for one for dad! This little player has seen it's share of use--from the none-too-gentle handling that our pre-teen dishes out to taking back and forth to use for musical rehearsals, the durability has been a big plus! The CD features have been a real asset at rehearsals, and it sounds GREAT. Once I figured out how to turn the darn thing ON and OFF (a little tricky..), I haven't had any trouble with it. Contrary to the review that has trouble with reception, we're out in the woods and get our favorite stations just fine!

I actually bought this in a store because it was cute, lightweight and the price was right for my daughter's room. Big mistake. The sound was never good. Within a month the tape player just stopped working. Then, just as abruptly, the cd lid wouldn't close anymore. Now I have to tape it shut with duct tape just to play a cd. And the people at Memorex couldn't care less.

This product was given to me as a gift, bought ahead of time so the 90 days warranty had run out before I used it. The 1st time I used the CD player it broke. The transfer switches between CD, Radio, and Tape were always sloppy. Now after two months the power switch has developed a short.

When you log on memorex.com you see a bunch of fluff but no real place to talk with what must be a small (if any) customer service department. Not only is this product a dog but I can't let anyone know about it at Memorex. There motto must now be "Is It Alive at Memorex?"

I got this boombox as a gift about 8 month ago and it does not play any more what must i due in order to make it work.i am not happy with the product

The CD player on this was execelent and despite what other reports say it was perfedctly clear and the speakers were also good. The volume had a wide range and was good for any occasion.

The digital tuning was definetlt a plus and ALL my favorite stations came in.

It is a sleak smooth design, great audio dobly digital sound,and digital colb filter for best theater sound quality.

This seems to be a love it or hate it item - I bought one for one son and it was adequate, didn't plan on recording or having "theater quality" sound. Doesn't have any extra features, but I didn't pay much for it either. I bought a second one for second son and the CD player on this one doesn't work half of the time, makes a sort of grinding noise and decides there's no CD there! Opening and closing the door repeatedly eventually will make it work, but I'm shopping for something else.

We bought this for our daughter this Christmas. She put a new CD in the unit, and it played for about 15 seconds, then died. We could not move to other tracks on the CD, and other CDs showed the same result. We were able to return it to the store for a refund, and have not been able to find the same unit since anywhere.
