I have purchased 3 including this one. The 1st 2 didn't work very well. Kept have to change the station for reception. This one works well, lets you put channels into memory and tells the time. The plugs are a little big for my ears but they still fit. The only problem I have is that I wear it when gardening and haven't found the best way to hook it so I don't keep pulling out the ear plugs. Still working on that one. This was well worth the purchase price!!

1. we have strong radio reception and this gets all the stations clearly
2. I have somewhat expensive headphones and the sound is very good for the price of the radio.
3. The necklace string works but I carry It in my pocket where it still gets crystal clear reception/
4. You can "auto-tune" ie hold down the button and it will go to the next station not the next number.
5. As others have said I couldn't figure out how to get the arm band on - although one of the comments explains it - but I wanted it in my pocket if the signal would stay strong which it does.
6. I wasn't sure if I would keep up with my walking for exercise so I went "cheap" on the radio, now I can't really imagine changing this is so lightweight and effective.

I use this radio because it is hard to find a good and cheap AM/FM/MP3 player since most MP3 players only include an FM radio. I have only two problems with it. One, the small size means a small AM antenna and the AM reception is poor because of that. Even the FM reception is borderline. The other problem is that the volume control is digital and the lowest setting is still a touch too loud for me. The digital tuning is great and I really like it, with 10 presets on each band.

If you do not intend to listen to much AM then you would do better with something else.

Reception is poor. I have used walkmans at work for years and never had this problem. No internal battery or doesn't work so every time batteries need to be changed all stations need reprogramming. Battert compartment is loose constantly wiping out the memory and once again needs reproggraming. Very frustrating. Did not expect these problems when purchased so I threw away the packaging making it difficult to return. The radio will soon follow.

We received it pretty promptly . I ordered it for my husband for work and he was so excited to get it as finally he would get to listen to the radio at work without using his cell phone and draining his battery. I opened it and tried it out and hardly could not get any stations which was disappointing but it was for him not for me . My husband took it to work and when he came home I asked him how was his radio . He said he could only get one station and it wasn't the one he liked or wanted so he put it in the kitchen draw and hasn't used it since. We are both dissapointed

About what I expected from other reviews. Works fine for my wife sitting on the patio and not moving around a lot.

I bought it to listen to AM when jogging. Works well, no problems with volume and the reception is very adequate in the West Los Angeles region. I use the arm band and it works fine. I found it easier to get the arm band tight around the upper bicep region first, then clip on the radio to the arm band. Otherwise, it's difficult to get the arm band tight while the radio is hanging from it. I prefer to use my own ear buds over the stock ones. Still on my first set of batteries and they seem to be lasting well.

We received these fast, in great condition and when we put it all together, it worked fantastic. The sound is beyond expectations for the low price we paid for it.

We have a standard radio in our lab that gets OK reception when it is by the window-- but when another group moved in to share our space I realized I couldn't just pipe the music of my choice in.

After 6 months of streaming NPR over my phone and using gobs of data I decided to look for a better option. I decided to try the cheapest option first, because if it worked, why spend more.

Well it didn't work. It was awful, constant loud static. I shipped it back to Amazon the next day. (Worth noting, it did work fine inside my house).

I was wondering if I should even try another option or if it was just a lost cause because I'm up high and there is a lot of interference downtown.

I gave: Sangean DT-120 AM/FM Stereo PLL Synthesized Pocket Receiver a go and it works PERFECTLY!

I was excited when this item arrived. However, once I put batteries in, the excitement left. I used multiple sets of brand new batteries and could not get the item to stay turned on. A couple of times I was actually able to set the time, but when I went to listen it would turn off completely. After hours of frustration, I returned the item and will keep looking for a portable AM/FM radio.
