Won't last,

I had this DVD player in black, purchased from a local store. After about a year and a half, the unit died right in the middle of playing a DVD. Perhaps two months before its death, the player showed signs of failing--it would not power on despite being plugged in to a reliable outlet. The first three or four times this happened, the problem was solved by unplugging/replugging. None of that has worked this time and the player is finally dead (and almost took a disc from the public library with it). I had to unscrew the thing and take the top cover off to retrieve the library's disc because it seems that there is no emergency manual opening method (i.e. the paperclip-powered way to open a computer's optical drive). I would not recommend buying this product. If you have this player already and it starts to fail, stop using it immediately to save yourself the trouble of trying to retrieve a trapped disc.

I got sucked into to buying this DVD player because it is pink, but after having it for a couple of months, it suddenly stopped working. I eventually figured out on my own that if I plug the DVD player directly into an outlet instead of a power surge that it will turn back on. Now I have had the DVD player for a year now, and the remote has suddenly decided to stop working. I even bought brand new batteries from amazon.com and it still doesn't work. Please do not waste your money on this product.

I brought this for my daughters room its, not as pink as on the box, it is more mauve like has more plum to it. But the remote is pink, very easy to hook up. I connected everything myself, easy instructions and easy to install with tv. I would get this again, I see the price went up slightly so I am glad I picked it up when I did.

I bought this DVD Player about 8 months ago & it just stopped working. It has barely been used & I went to watch a movie last night, it just won't play. It loads the disc but then it freezes before it gets to the menu screen. I'm so disappointed... I guess it's true that you get what you pay for... on sale for $25.00 @ Target. Off to buy a new one, but this time not a Memorex.

We wanted a pink DVD player for our daughter's room and although it is pink, it lacks as a DVD player. It plays standard DVDs, but cannot play most DVD-R discs which is what we use. As you can see in the picture, the player only has 3 buttons; none of which is a power button. Pressing any of those 3 buttons will turn the player on, but the only way to turn it off is with the remote control. The remote control is very small and very hard to read the labels for the buttons. Definitely would not buy it again. We are currently looking for a different pink DVD player to replace this device.

This product was a pretty pink waste of money. Half of my DVDs it wouldn't even recognize. The rest would freeze during play and I had to unplug to the player and replug it to even get them out. I haven't been able to play a single DVD even half way through on it yet.
