-Loud whirs when trying to play a DVD
-Weird errors ("i.e. "No Disc")
-Half the time the sound doesn't work
-Just stops working sometimes

Definitely do not recommend this DVD player

This product is so bad that I decided to write a poor review even after seeing all of the other reviews.

It comes with only a 3-month warranty for a reason. Because it's built to last 3 months and 1 day.

The remote quit working after 2 months. Would not recommend this to anyone.

This DVD player appears to have some technical problems. I followed the setup procedure for installing component video, and the instructions said to change the Video Out to Component. Unfortunately Video Out does not allow for changes. You cannot highlight it on the SetUp screen. I checked with the store that I purchased it and the sales associate had the same problem when he went to the setup screen. I can get a picture, but no sound. The next step would be to try S-Video, but since I have the component cables and want the better quality picture and audio that they supposedly provide, this may go back for another player. Maybe the low price tag was too good to be true for a progressive scan player!

I bought this DVD player abotu 1 month ago and it has never really worked. It skips titles EVERY time I try to watch a DVD, which is incredibly annoying. Taking this one back to Target ASAP. Not even worth, seriously, $10. Do NOT buy!

The warranty on this substandard product is 90 days. My dvd player had a mechanical problem within a year and the manufacturer offered me to repair it for $25 + $10 shipping for a $39 item.

Stay away from this dvd player.

I had a Memorex DVD player for a little over a year. It was hardly used. One day it just kept spinning the DVD and would not load it. What a piece of junk.

I don't really know what else to say but don't buy this. After a week it works worse than the DVD player that I needed to replace.

Although this is a cheap dvd player that sometimes makes a whirling noise when it is loading, I have used it often for a few years with no other problems except for the sound. It is very rare that it makes the noise, and I have had no other problems with it. If you just need a basic dvd player it is okay in my book. Nothing fancy, but what do you expect? You get what you pay for.

Had the same problems that everyone else seems to have. Disc won't play, loud, and works when it wants to. I didn't look at the online reviews before buying. After I bought it, and it didn't work - then I looked at the reviews. I know - I am a little slow sometimes. I went out and bought a new Sony - which I love. I gave this cheap one to my 14 year old son and told him if he fixed it - he could have it. He is mechanically inclined - so he was fired up. He had the stinking thing fixed in 15 minutes!! When they package this thing - quite a bit of material gets into the machine. When he opened it up there was a lot of dust and packaging material all over the components and the eye. He gently, with a dry cloth, cleaned up the guts of the machine - put it back together - and it has worked like a charm for the last 3 months. Just be gentle when cleaning this thing out - and you should have a usable player. I still only rate this as a 2 though because you shouldn't have to self diagnose and fix before playing.
