wonderful product !!!,

This review is from: Memorex CD/DVD Paper Sleeves with Window (50-Pack) (Electronics)
Memorex makes an excellent paper sleeve to protect CDs and DVDs from lying around gathering dust. The paper sleeves are also particularly good when mailing CDs and DVD discs because they protect the disc while reducing the cost of postage. It costs less to mail CD and DVD media in paper sleeves than it does to mail the same CDs and DVDs in slim jewel cases. This savings alone should make these sleeves pay for themselves!
The colors are red, blue, green, yellow, and orange; this is great for color coding the different types of disc media you have in your collection. Moreover, the colors don't distract you from being able to focus on the label or other writing on the CD or DVD. I agree with the reviewer who notes that there is a hole in the back of the sleeve into which you can insert a flap. This ensures that the CDs and DVDs don't dislodge when they are in transit in the postal system or your car as you take them from one place to another. They are also useful for people who have accumulated so many CDs and DVDs that to store the media even in the slim jewel cases now takes up too much room. Some reviewers noticed an unpleasant smell from these sleeves but my order cam quite satisfactorily. I feel badly that they had this bad experience; it may be that Memorex improved the way they manufacture these sleeves so that they won't smell bad. Overall, these are good quality paper sleeves at the right price. I highly recommend these CD/DVD paper sleeves for people who want a practical and cost-efficient alternative to jewel cases.

Reeks!,

I had the same experience as another reviewer here, the sleeves smell very strong (I put them out in the garage till I can return them). I bought these elswhere but came here to see if others had the same experience & low & behold yes they did! To me its almost a musty odor probably has something to do with them having to be shipped from Taiwan! The sleeves I've bought in the past were made by "Ampad" here in the US, I'll go back to buying their brand.

The clear plastic windows of the sleeves emit a strong chemical smell. I bought two boxes; both boxes stank. Maybe if you pay a little more you get the non-stinky kind.
You get red, orange, yellow, green and blue sleeves, 10 of each.

It does have some smell as memtioned by some reviewers, but it is not too strong. It is a good buy as it is cheap.

I suspect the inventory has been sitting around long enough now so that the odor complained of previously has greatly lessened. Only when I put them right up to my nose could I tell what previous reviewers were talking about. 50 CD sleeves for $3.95 is a good deal. My only complaint was that the sleeves themselves were bound by a tight rubber band causing a significant crease in more than half the stack. It is completely unneccessary to rubber band them as they are already in a box. For the price, I would still recommend them.

These Paper sleves with windows are great for CD Spendals. I purchased these to protect the cd's I make for friends and family to keep them from getting scratched. Not as good as a hard plastice case but all in all you get what you pay for.

As the author of the Jefferson Airplane book "Take Me To A Circus Tent" and a former radio disc-jockey, I am often asked to write and or discuss various music supplies and recordings from the 60's and 70's.
Memorex CD/DVD Paper Sleeves with Window (50-Pack) Those that have purchased the product and have experienced something odiferous have made valid points. In order to circumvent this situation if you are purchasing any of the CD/DVD sleeves in a store they usually will have a date the item was placed in inventory with the price. If you are purchasing from an on-line vendor please don't hesitate to send them an email and see if they will be honest enough to let you know when the last shipment was received. I have used the Memorex paper sleeves a plethora of times and have been able to get packages that have not been in storage long. The sleeves are very good and often sold at a terrific discount. You will want to make sure at all times the CD's and DVD's are protected from light and dust. The window style is perfect for easy viewing of what is inside without having to remove the CD or DVD. Enjoy the music and be well, Craig Fenton Author of the Jefferson Airplane book "Take Me To A Circus Tent" |
