They are thin and take up the minimum amount of space.

They are flexible and don't shatter like jewel cases.

You can see through them if your DVDs have labels or writing on them.

You can write directly on them with a Sharpie type pen so if you make your own home DVDs you don't have to write on the DVDs at all and risk what might happen long term with the pen ink chemicals interacting with the DVD layers.

And, they're designed not to damage the DVDs.

I love these cases. I bought one set to try out thinpaking my DVDs, and then ordered 4 more to do the rest. I currently own 157 DVDs, and so far I've moved 97 over to these cases (the rest are mostly box sets or already thinpaked). Its very easy to adjust the covers to fit these thinner cases, just trim about 1-2 mms from the two sides, then slide it in. I recommend using a straight edge blade with a ruler or other straight guide to get the best results. Every new DVD I get will immediately get moved to these cases in the future. My entertainment center is no longer double stacked and looks much neater!

I love the flexible clear plastic.

Excellent spindle design - great preservation of the discs - the little push button doesn't require you to pry the disc out.

And these slim lines take up far less shelf space.

You can put your title pages inside, or these cases have outer sleeves that you can put covers in as well. You get the best of all worlds.

If you use the outside sleeve, no precise cutting is required. Cut your title page to major dimensions, insert the label, fold it closed - you have a nice crease created, and if you print things correctly (takes a little time to create a proper template but worth it) you can get labeling on the spine (line it up well before the first closing). This will allow you to make your title pages out of card stock, not having to pay extra for "DVD Case Insert" packages.

Would recommend these over any other cases out there.

I tried this out to slim out my collections which has grown too unweildly, like many others here, I'm sure. :) What I really like about these besides the slimness is the how it locks. The case lock is really simple, with two clicks in the corners and slotted grooves along the edges. I'm fine with this as opposed to those that have the additional hinges which flip over the edge. It's not guvmint secrets being locked away. I've dropped these by accident, and from the normal waist height, it didn't pop open. That's all you really need.

As for the inside locking. I like this one very much as well since it is easy to utilize. There is the ubiquitous circle in the middle, but on the right side, when you push down the center, it's like opening a box and the center edge is moved away, and the disc is free to be removed. Otherwise, it stays in nicely.

I've transfered my normal dvd sleeves into the slim ones by shaving off 1/4 in off the left and right. The full width is 10.5", so you can play around on your own to which side of the dvd sleeve content you want to keep. Bear in mind though to keep the titles on the spine, you have to let the spine be b/w the 5" and 5.25" mark.

If anyone wants to get me some as a birthday gift, aug 13th, feel free to click on my wish list. :) The clear ones though, as I don't know why the coloured or the black ones are more expensive. It doesn't matter, I've got sleeve artwork and inserts for them, and for the ones I use for my productions, the clear ones allow additional space for info and artwork around the disk edges.

For some reason Memorex seems to be producing/selling two different style DVD cases. For most of us, the simple center clip fixture which most cheap/junk cases now feature are the plague. They are difficult to lock the DVD into and tricky to dislodge. Most people break them after only a few tries. The "old" style (found in most pre-recorded feature film DVDs) have a multi-spoked wheel which centers the disc and fastens it at 3 to 5 different locations around the middle. The clear slim double cases have the prefered "wheel spoke" hub while the singles have been coming with the center clip style. LOOK BEFORE YOU BUY. Personally, I have become very cautious in my purchases from Memorex which is a shame because I use to trust them blindfolded. Memorex... are you listening?

I use hundreds of DVD cases at work and switched from the Best Buy Dynex brand when they cheapened the outer sleeve material & the hub design. Now, I have mixed feelings about these too.

First, the quality of the material is outstanding; They obviously use virgin poly. They're also nice and straight. For some reason, the Dynex cases always had a pronounced curve. The outer sleeve is also of a quality gauge and they seem to be attached well so they should last.

Here's the BUT. The center hub which they tout so much is absurd. To test my hypothesis, I put a used DVD in the case and walked around the office and gave it to 10 different people and then simply asked them to remove the disc. Only 2 out of the 10 could release the disc quickly. For about five others, it took a good 15-20 seconds to release the disc. The others were still working on it after 30 seconds. The problem is, if you hold the case like you normally would, say, a book, it doesn't release like other DVD cases. Yo have to depress the button and slide it left. If you depress the button and just lift as usual, you can yank on it all day (which is what some did and to the detriment of the DVD) and it won't come out. That can't be good for stress at the center hub of the DVD. There's got to be a better design than this clunker that will protect that fragile area. The standard Amaray box hub is terrific. Do they need to over-complicate these things?

Save space and weight by using these wonderful thin dvd cases. I got rid of a bunch of thick cases to save space on my bookshelf. The only disadvantage is that title on the spine is hard to read, but you can flip through them just as quickly.

DVDs fit well and covers close and latch even with photo paper in slips.

For anyone building a large collection of DVDs, this product is wonderful. It uses a fraction of the space of a regular case. I have tried a couple of off-brand slim cases and they were pretty poor. The Memorex has a high quality look and feel that is worth the extra pennies. I have found them to be rugged and reliable in use. Shop around for prices.

The Memorex Slim DVD Storage Cases are better than I expected. The center button that secures the DVD is superior to the standard black DVD case. The standard black DVD case (received with movies I've purchased) center is made up of four pieces, of which at least one usually breaks. The center of the slim storage case has two pieces, one C shaped piece & a button (reads "push")that extends slightly over the disc to secure it. The disc is released once the button is pushed - no issues that cause you to struggle with the release. There are four outlying indentures which make it easy to pick the disc up out of the case.

Case has two clips on inside left, and a sleeve on the outside to insert a cover/identifier page. I highly recommend the Memorex Slim DVD Video Storage Cases!!
