This review is from: Memorias de Mama Blanca (Spanish Edition) (Paperback)

We read this book for a Latin American literature class. It was published during the first few decades of the twentieth century and is still a classic and a pleasure to read. It deals with the memories of a woman who grew up on "La Piedra Azul", a Venezuelan plantation. What moved me so much is how the author (Teresa de la Parra) deals with memories, nostalgia, and the past. The magic of her childhood comes through the story: we see through HER eyes, and we see a world of tenderness, fascinating, in short marvelous. I liked it quite a lot and recommend it to any reader who wants to enjoy a well-written book.
