Little Gem,

Interesting look at a young slave girl that was freed at the end of the Civil War while still a child and before anything bad happened to her. The author gave an interesting narrative of slave children and white children playing together while very young.
Her experiences after the Civil War ended, are as interesting as her experiences while it was going on. I recommend this little gem to anyone interested in that era of American History.

Lost my interest very quickly. Not worth buying. Get "The Help" if you are looking for something more interesting. This got very repetitive and lost my interest very quickly.
