There are many books full of theories about our souls, God, how we got here, and about Creation itself. This book by Dr. Modi is a rare book with real spiritual meat in it, covering not merely theories but actual information obtained while her patients were in a deep hypnotic trance. Being a hynotherapist for years I know that much hidden truth can be accessed from the human subconscious mind. I have worked with individuals who, when asked to go back in time to whenever the problem occurred, went back to a past life trauma. I never expected to find such clarity and understanding written by a psychiatrist on past life regression as a modality for emotional and mental healing. Nor did I expect to find the subject of demonic infestation investigated. Dr. Modi has courageously asked her patients for information that I never thought to ask or believed could be found through hypnosis. The knowledge she presents is written so that it is easily comprehended and stimulating to read. Her words have given me clarity on some things that I have personally seen with my own inner sight. Her prayers and ideas at the end of the book are powerful, precise and a gift to the world. She obviously has great compassion, love and wisdom. I recommend this book to everyone who wants to stretch their mind and increase their understanding of the mysteries of life and the universe.

5.0 out of 5 stars Possibly the most interesting book I have ever read, March 31, 2001

How many of us actually get a chance to know how God was created? This book not only reveals that, but also how Lucifer came to be, how he works, and what we can do about it. If you have never understood the "big picture" you will now, and your part in it. There is so much work for us to do, it is imperative for us to be about our Father's business. The day I finished the book, I ordered 4 copies for my sisters, brother, and a friend. I hope you will do the same. Ignorance is not bliss, we can heal ourselves, our friends and family and eventually the planet. I thought I understood the New Testament. Now I know exactly what Jesus meant when he said, "Go into all the world and preach the gospel to every creature, heal the sick, raise the dead, and cast out demons." Dr. Modi is obedient to Christ's demand. After you read both of her books, this one and Remarkable Healings, you too, will understand how to do just that.

5.0 out of 5 stars Memories of God and Creation, November 28, 2002
This review is from: Memories of God and Creation: Remembering from the Subconscious Mind (Paperback)
Psychiatrist Shakuntala Modi has been in private practice for more than twenty-five years. During her training and in her practice, she realized that "no single treatment worked for every patient." Despite learning various therapies, she was unable to help certain patients.
She used hypnotherapy when it seemed appropriate, and one day, a patient responded in an unexpected way and regressed into a past life. While under hypnosis, the patient resolved some issues from an earlier life that had created difficulties in her present life. Dr. Modi discovered that other patients had this same ability, and she published her findings in her first book, in 1997.
She has continued to work with patients, and Memories of God and Creation: Remembering from the Subconscious Mind, her third book, presents the startling results of her research.
Dr. Modi and her patients learned that they can not only regress to past lives, they can regress all the way back to when the universe was first formed and they were one with God. Under hypnosis, people have described how souls were created, how angels and masters were formed, and how evil and dark entities developed.
They also describe how souls, while still in Heaven, plan for their earthly lives with the help of teachers and masters. Souls reincarnate on Earth time and time again, always with the purpose of furthering their spiritual growth.
Dr. Modi doesn't just tell us about all this--she includes dozens of transcripts of what people have said while under hypnosis. Although details may occasionally differ, the accounts are remarkably similar when taken as a whole. Within our subconscious is the memory all everything that has happened in the Universe from the instant it began until the present time.
Memories of God and Creation "answers almost everything we always wanted to know about God and creation, that is, how it happened and why, and everything since then. It is the history of our soul." It's a history that will fascinate and enlighten readers.

While this may seem to be an honest look at God and creation through the eyes of hypnotized subjects, this book is a radical departure from the major body of material on the subject. It is judgmental, and seems to be the hypnotic regression parallel to the New World "Translation" of the Bible. By way of explanation, the founder of Jehovah's Witnesses, with absolutely no Greek, took the Bible and changed the wording in places which conflicted with what he wished to teach. He then called it a "translation". Shakuntala Modi has taken everything she's gotten through her practice, eliminated everything that didn't agree with her theology, and put the remainder into her book.

If you want a clear picture, devoid of personal bias, not filtered through a theological sieve or the 1950 version of the DSMII, I would recommend Dr. Michael Newton's groundbreaking books "Journey of Souls" and "Destiny of Souls". He bent over backwards to avoid any personal bias. The result is perhaps the most important books I've ever read. Having a thorough familiarity with Newton's work, and the works of many others like him (though none achieve quite the impartiality of Newton), one gets pretty clear pictures of things, including God and creation. To then read Modi's work is a shocker. Surely there are sound reasons why her work and results depart from the results of many other researchers in the field. Perhaps, and most likely to me, she approaches patients with her personal theology, prejudices and beliefs marching before her. If she starts with a strong bias (which seems evident when you read her stuff), she is going to get material which lines up with her personal world view. Rather than allowing the information to change her, she has allowed herself to change the information. Save your money and order Newton's books instead.

I enjoyed reading Dr.Modi book and it seemed to resonate with me to certain extend. Until she describes homosexuality as dark and not aligned with the divinity. I think this opinion is based upon her own judgement. It is the same type of judgement that has allowed the society to inflict horrendus crimes againt homosexuality.

I would like to thank Dr. Modi for such an insightful look at our creation and our creator. It is positve and helpful to us as a people. Many ideas and memories can be taken and applied to our everyday lives, bringing us into the light and moving us toward our purpose here on earth. I have begun to pray more, pray out loud and be grateful. I think her book has been sent to us as a learning tool from which we can all benefit. It will not hurt anyone to pray, even the non believers. Again, thank you for your courage, your input and your help for our future.

Dr. Modi provides multiple transcripts of clients describing their memories of creation that enable the reader to see for herself or himself the similarities between all the accounts. She writes clearly without endorsing one religion or belief above another. I could not put the book down. I found myself feeling spiritually uplifted.

5.0 out of 5 stars Another important book by Dr. Modi, March 22, 2011
By
This review is from: Memories of God and Creation: Remembering from the Subconscious Mind (Paperback)
I have previously read and reviewed the author's book "Remarkable Healings". This is another masterful book well worth reading.

Dr. Modi gains her information by interviewing her subjects in a regressed state (under hypnosis). The subconscious mind (which is our soul) contains all the memories from the beginning of time - if time has a beginning (my remark).

Modi's subjects state that God always was and is (this supports my previous remark), and that the universe started with God. He/It is a "big, golden orb of energy". But at first there was only a "vast black void". Two particles in space rub together and create a sound and spark of light. The spark begins to grow and divide into many parts.

God was made up of individual consciousnesses, which initially felt peaceful, harmonious and content, but as the ball of God was growing and expanding, Its vibrations became faster, and parts of God thrown out randomly got lost in the void. Thus God and Its parts began to feel lonely, empty and sad. Some consciousnesses began to feel anxious and fearful, as they did not want to get lost in the void too. Eventually, the parts of God collectively decided to create by releasing the ever-growing energy in an orderly fashion. God decided to let some of the energy out with protection.

The various consciousnesses grew to different sizes and colours, and their powers differed in degree. God desired to create so every part could grow to be equal in size and power and could evolve to perfection.

However, a black energy from the void hit the ball of Lucifer, and it gradually became black. His ball and other balls influenced by him did not support creation. They passed through the outer edge of the ball of God and became the "demons". They were not created as angels, as we previously have been led to believe, and did not take any part in the creation. Lucifer did not want other parts of God to grow and become as large as he was (he was one of the larger balls). He wanted to become the "big shot" and become God.

After Lucifer and his followers had left, God began to create, the order of creation being masters, angels, universes, plants, animals and "rational-thinking beings" i.e. humans and other beings to inhabit Earth and other planets. Everything is explained in great detail, including the reasons for the order in which the various beings and so on were created.

Diagrams show the structure of Heaven/God, the subjects describing two models - the circular and the pyramidal model. There are further diagrams showing the creation of the original spark of God, vibrational sound from the original spark, expanding wavelengths in God, etc, etc.

Humans and other rational beings would be responsible for the growth of God. Through our innumerable incarnations, we would learn and grow, and as we grew, God would grow. (This confirms the statements of Abraham, as channelled by Esther Hicks, who constantly assures/assure - Abraham is a collective consciousness- us that everything we do is extremely important as we contribute to the growth of God/All-That-Is). The soul's connection with God is eternal and we will never be separated from God. The souls are told "in your solitude you will know I am with you so you will never forget who you are". He told them "Let love always be your guide".

Souls were created in groups. There were differences between them according to how they felt about their creation. This resulted in a stratification of souls. Some, who felt afraid and confused, sank to the bottom of the godhead (see explanation of "godhead" later). Those who were happy yet not joyful ended in the middle layer. Those who were joyful (even though some were smaller souls) floated to the top. We can learn an important lesson from this.

There is a chapter about planning in Heaven for a life on Earth and one about memories of prenatal life and birth. We are told "From conception on, the fetus experiences and records all the feelings and thoughts of the mother as its own, including depression, anxiety, anger, guilt, rejection and physical pain".

There are many further inspiring chapters including one on "First incarnation on a planet", these incarnations mostly being on Venus, which like Neptune and Uranus, was closer to the Light (God) and had faster vibrations.

Again, as advised by Abraham, among others, we are told that it is important for us to experience joy and buoyancy as much as possible very day. We need to focus on bringing everybody into oneness on Earth. "If you ever get lost, look inside yourself and you will reconnect with your purpose. All the information is hidden inside your soul. Pray and meditate and you will be on the right path."

We are told about a special chair found in Heaven that will connect us to the higher reality almost instantly. This chair will be on Earth in the future.

We should pray in an affirmative way and at the end request that whatever we have asked for be given to anybody who needs it. Breathing is the most direct connection with the Light and God.

Godheads, which I have had some difficulty in wholly understanding, are pathways to and from God. They are similar to created souls, and are discrete and separate entities, distinct from one another. "A godhead associated with a pyramid may populate dozens of universes. Souls from one godhead may have lives in ten to fourteen different dimensions at the same time."

A final important chapter describes methods to transform ourselves and our planet. Here Dr. Modi gives us her advice on how best to live our lives and develop. This chapter comprises a prayer and meditation for the Violet Flame, which is an extremely valuable tool for us to heal and transform ourselves and our planet and "even the whole universe". The Violet Flame can transmute and transmute the dark entities and all that comes with them. In time it can dissipate all our negative thoughts and feelings.

In all, I feel this to be an absolutely valuable book, equal or perhaps superior to her first book. It is simply and clearly written, so it can be understood by all. There a few typos, grammatical mistakes, etc, but very few as compared to the amount of such errors in the many other books I read and review!

My only reservation is that in the first chapters there are many repetitious accounts of the process of creation, worded in practically the same manner. And as a whole, as I think I stated in my review of the author's previous book, all Modi's subjects seem to express themselves in exactly the same way as Modi herself! This seems a little strange, but does not detract from the clarity of the book's message.

Some of the explanations regarding creation may seem somewhat simplistic, so we might wonder if they are true, but on the other hand all the other of Modi's statements and items of information ring true as a bell. This is a wise book, if a book can be wise, and I recommend it strongly.

5.0 out of 5 stars Expanded perspective on life, November 4, 2010

I really enjoyed reading this book. I love the perspective of eons of time. That we are all from the same divine source, separated by time and space. When daily life gets tough, very tough, I reach back into this broad expanse and remember from whence we have come ...and hopefully, where we are all heading.

4.0 out of 5 stars Interesting Viewpoints, but Tough to Validate, April 15, 2004
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Memories of God and Creation: Remembering from the Subconscious Mind (Paperback)
This book offers a fresh perspective on the creation of the universe and the dichotomy between good and evil. The author used hypnosis to guide her patients through past life regressions all the way to the beginning of time. The various descriptions are basically congruent, but they are tough to validate in any meaningful sense. Having said this, I enjoyed this book because it offers an alternative viewpoint of Creation from that which I learned in the Lutheran Church. The final chapter, which offers advice on lifestyle changes that can enhance spirituality was quite interesting and I wish it were expanded. In short, the book tackles a subject that hasn't been adequately addressed in a creative and inspirational manner.
