Well, to start off, this reviewer like reading long sentences; and if the reviewer from the the Literary Times think that Marylyle Rogers writes sentences of an abnormal length that take "many rereadings" to understand, sje obviously have never cracked open a book by Virginia Woolf - that woman loved long sentences much more so than Ms Rogers- and in no way is it a hindrance to either author, so that reviewer needs to broaden her reading spectrum ASAP.

Anyway, on to the story. While the plot is a little hackneyed (Tal can't remember her because he was under a love spell, but she will prove her love to him and win his hand even if she is just a lowly freeborn Welshwoman), Rogers managed to inject the take with the magic of Wales and come up with a story that is sweet in its innocent look at the world on Ceri and all that she holds dear. It's a world that I felt myself wanting to become a part of as the story progressed, and that is always the hallmark of a good story.
