A must read for road racing fans.,
By Hank Rearden (Georgia) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Memories of the Peloton (Paperback)
One of the last great "all arounders" in the sport of bicycle road racing. In an era of specialists it the great riders of yesterday that are to really be appreciated. Huge on ego and never afraid to speak his mind Hinault was a giant on a bike. He gives you a look into what it was like to win not only the big tours but the spring classics that open each season. While drugs were used in his era for sure he and a handful of riders (Merckx, LeMond, Roche, Kelly, Fignon, etc..) will always be the measure of the greats in the sport. A very worthy read for those who relish the history, drama and courage it takes to race and with the great races of Europe.
