Editorial Reviews

From Library Journal

A clone's search for diversity (Mary Ellen Mathews's "Children of Divers Kind"), a modern-day immaculate conception (Nona M. Caspers's "Harmonic Conception"), and a woman's fascination with Alexander the Great (R. M. Meluch's "Conversation with a Legend") illustrate the broad range of this collection of 15 sf and fantasy stories by women. Although a strong feminist and lesbian slant appears in many selections, this volume offers a combination of stimulating--sometimes explicit--prose and challenging subject matter. For most libraries.

This review is from: Memories and Visions: Women's Fantasy and Science Fiction (Women's Fantasy & Science Fiction, Vol. 1) (Hardcover)
After reading the first four short stories, I gave up on this book. It seems the authors were more interested in creating pseudo-intellectual feminist fables than developing the characters. I expected more from such educated authors. That this drivel was published at all is a disappointment.
