5.0 out of 5 stars Great product that works perfectly
Works exactly like it was supposed to. Transfered all my saves over from my 8MB Sony Memory Card. It did NOT work with my 16MB Max Memory Card, not will it work with any other 3rd Party memory cards, as it is stated in the manual. This problem is alleviated by simply transferring the data from the 16MB one to the 8MB one (via the PS2 browser) and then onto the PS3. Also,...

Also, I was able to transfer a save back to my memory card. I have only do in twice, I downloaded a save and got a save for Final Fantasy X emailed to me. Unlike the review titled "read the fine print" you CAN go transfer PS2 saves from you PS3 to your PS2 8MB Memory card. What he doesn't understand is, via an update this was enabled. Also, what they posted on the Sony website is not true. It is just a way for you to buy their $30 memory card adapter by making you worry about data corruption. Also, to the person who said it was fragile. Yeah, the connection from the back of the adapter to the end of the cable is barely wobbly, but the construction is sturdy. It has the same construction of the Official Sony one. Unless you rip out the card or bash it, it won't break. The only qualms I have about it is the cable is on the short side (as long as it can reach a solid surface and is not hanging you should ave no problem) and the memory card needs a little tug to get it out. You have to hold onto the sides and jiggle it side to side once while pulling (lightly) to get it out.

I bought a 60gb PS3 about a month ago, and I wanted to keep all my saves from my PSone and PS2 memory cards and let my friend have my PS2 console. I saw this adapter was much cheaper than the official Sony adapter, so I bought this one without thinking twice. The first one I recieved trasfered my data from the 1st memory card no problem, then it breaks. I had another one shipped so I could transfer the data from the other memory card, which it did just fine, but now I have no reason to use it, so it just gathers dust in my desk. This particular memory card adapter is really fragile, and you must remove the memory cards easily so you don't have the same problem as I did. If you plan just transfering data 1 or 2 times, then get this one, but if you plan to use it frequently, then you want to buy the Sony version.

4.0 out of 5 stars ONLY PS3 NOT PC!!, December 9, 2011

I got this product intending to use it for transferring PS2 files from my PC to PS3 then PS3 to PS2. However, the PC does not recognize the Adapter software so you can only use it on a PS3. If you read what its for though it says no PC so it does what its supposed to.

It does what it says. I would highly recommend this for anyone wanting to play your PS1 and PS2 oldies on PS3 from your old saves on repective Memory cards. In short I highly Recommend this for anyone that wants to pick up where you left off on your old games on the PS3.

I was a little leery of buying this, as it isn't the official adapter. However, since I was only going to be using it once I decided I'd give it a shot.
It worked just fine, and though my PS3 consistently tells me my data is corrupted, everything loads up like it's supposed to. It even survived a chewing attack from my cat that removed the door, my taking it apart to replace said door and still read my memory cards when I put it back together and tested it. An exellent deal for the money, I really reccomend it.

I just couldn't see spending the amount Playstation wanted to charge me for their brand of
this adapter. I didn't have any problems and began to realize I didn't really "need" to copy
that much over anyways...but for the price, I have no worries.

Product works as described. The only downside is that I couldn't get the adapter to work with my PC, although I don't really have a reason to.

Also, there are no instructions with it so it took a Youtube video to show me where to look for the External Memory Card icon on my PS3.

5.0 out of 5 stars Cheap and functional, May 21, 2010
= Fun:5.0 out of 5 stars
This review is from: Memory Card Adapter for Sony PS2 to PS3 (Video Game)
Bought this version instead of the official Sony adapter because I was only going to use it once. Does what it says on the box, basically. Was able to transfer my PS2 saves from a Sony PS2 memory card, and was able to transfer my PS1 saves from a Sony PS1 memory card. The PS3 saves each memory card as a new 'card' on the PS3 hard drive, and you have to pick 2 to be the 'slots' that your PS2 and PS1 games will search saves for.

Not too much to say about it other than plug it in & it works just like the PS2. Great product at a excellent price! I've had it for a few weeks & no problems. I searched around for the best price & it was definitely here; everywhere else was almost $50! I got it for $10 on Amazon!
