I love this game. My 2 1/2 year old and I started matching items in the game. I'll take out four cards and give her them one at a time to match the others. We don't actually play the game yet but with all the classic kids' first objects on the cards train, ball, bear, shoe etc it gives us plenty to talk about. Way better than the Dora matching game. There you are limited to Dora's actions whereas this has lots of different types of objects.

5.0 out of 5 stars 3 year old's first game!, March 11, 2010

Between Candy Land and this Memory game, my 3.5 year old's favorite so far is Memory. He pretends with Candyland but understands Memory more. I think Candyland is more for the 4 year olds+. Memory can be played with less cards so a 2-3 year old could play without feeling frustrated. First I started my son out with 6 cards, then moved to 8, 10, 12, and eventually 14. Initially, expect frustration when they can't find the match as soon as they want; I put the game away a while and tried later. Eventually, he understood and loves the game now! We play 1 player with mommy on his team, but eventually I could see him playing for real with a friend. He knows all the words on the cards. The drawings are very cute and the cards are pretty durable. I also like the container, it's atypical. I think this is a good tool for any child - and of course strengthens their memory! :)
