When I bought the machine about a year or so ago I thought that there would be no problem getting replacements for the plexi mat, so I didn't think about getting any at that time. Now that I need one, I find that it has been replaced with a different, inferior product that is unable to be used with the steel rule dies. This is a serious bummer as this reduces some of the cool things I bought the machine for. I have spent approximately $60 trying to find replacement plexi mats, all to no avail. There are companies and people out there who claim to be direct replacements of this mat - don't believe them. I did.
I find that my mat is so worn that my machine is almost unusable - so now I am at a crossroads: Spend yet more money on a replacement mat (a FLEXI mat now), or buy a different die cutting machine all together. I am researching other machines as I write this. Again, a serious bummer.

UPDATE 9/22/11:
After the pleximat wore out, I found there was no good way to use the FLEXIMAT as they suggested. I tried many approaches: I was forced to shim with the flexi to a ridiculous amount to get it to cut; to the other side of the coin, the "replacement" pleximats were too thick to be used with my machine (they are NOT the replacement they claim). My machine is now virtually unusable. I am forced to buy a different kind of die cutter, and wish I would have gone with the Big Shot instead.

I have some doubts about buying this tool because of people who have complains, but I find it very useful, and I'm so happy I bought it.
It's so portable and takes almost no space for storing, it cuts very well, no cracking sounds, rolls perfectly, even cuts, and really good embosses.
I've been making some tests with different materials, and find a very thin plastic sheet at home that I put over the paper and when I cut this plastic protects my fleximat from taking marks, so it can last longer.
I really recommend this tool and the cookie cutters are also great.
Very affordable, and you don't need to buy extra plattforms, they're big enough to take big dies.

I like that it is more compact. I wish I would have known when I bought it you need 2 plexi sheets to use larger dies in. Having a hard time finding one.
Works great on embossing folders

The Epic Six works very well. It would be nice if the top plexiglass mat didn't tweak and bend when you use it.

I have the revolution and loved it. I wanted to be able to use the newer larger dies. This one is very difficult to use. I don't like the fact that the cutting mat is flexible. After a couple of uses, it rolls up and is very difficult to use and doesn't last long. I only had to buy 2 cutting mats in 4 years with my revolution. I have already bought 3 in the last 6 months with the epic. It too bad they could keep the revolution design and just make it with a larger cutting bed. It is a much better cutting machine design.
