Product Description

Lucille Dickinson Ainsworth was born in the Roaring 20's and lived a glorious childhood despite the Great Depression. She came of age as World War II raged across the world's battlefields. From the Roaring 20's to the New Millennium, join her for a sentimental journey down Memory Lane.

About the Author

LUCILLE DICKINSON AINSWORTH has longevity in her genes. With a father who lived to be 100, she's just now embarking on the life of an author though she's a bit past the half-century mark. Like comedy genius Jack Benny though, she refuses to own up to any age over 39. Lucille invites you to indulge in nostalgia via Visit Memory Lane, her blog located at http://VisitMemoryLane.blogspot.com. JOAN AINSWORTH REEVES, Lucille's daughter, is the published author of seven novels as well as a longtime successful freelance writer published in print and all over the web under her own name, various pseudonyms and as a ghostwriter. Joan grew up flipping through the pages of her mother's scrapbooks and listening to stories about the old days. Joan maintains a website and two daily blogs: http://www.JoanReeves.com, Joan Sling Words, http://JoanSlingsWords.com and Sling Words on Blogspot, http://SlingWords.blogspot.com. Mother and daughter hope you find the stories of early twentieth century life not only compelling and educational but also highly entertaining.

5.0 out of 5 stars Memory Lane ... My Sentimental Journey, December 16, 2008
"Memory Lane" by Ainsworth and Reeves is a well documented autobiography of the life experiences of a young girl growing up in Louisiana in the 1920's and 1930's. Mrs. Ainsworth relates her keen and colorful recollection of people, places, and events of this era in an interesting and graphic manner. The book is free of "political correctness": it is a "must read" for those who seek historical knowledge of the actual lifestyle of Southern people. From her childhood to an adult, the book spans the Great Depression and World War II. It is a book that speaks of a time when the size of a person's heart meant more than the size of their bank account. This is a story of southern Americana at its best.
