One for the ages...,

James Leva is a musical treasure that is worth opening again and again. Somehow he managed to fly beneath my radar screen for years... don't let this happen to you! His songs which range from folk to old time to gospel are spell-binding and cut straight to the heart. On this CD, he teams up with John Doyle (from Solas), one of the finest accoustic rhythm guitarist out there right now. The combination of James' old-time roots and John's Irish rhythm is not to be missed. If you liked Tim O'Brien's "The Crossing", you'll love this CD. From the lively standard "Sourwood Mountain", to the haunting "Boat's Up the River", and finally to the gorgeous "Queen of the Earth, Child of the Skies"... you'll be humming these tunes after a few listens. I'd also highly recommend the Jones and Leva CD, "Vertie's Dream" where James teams up with Elizabeth Jones. Do yourself a favor and get this one, you won't regret it if you appreciate traditional music.
