"Memphis Heat" cooks!,

Not sure what the previous reviewer disliked about this excellent release. Memphis Slim's legendary "barrelhouse-style" piano and punchy vocals are on full display and he receives tight, competant support from the Canned Heat boys. "When I Were Young," "Mother Earth," and "Five Long Years" are all classics. The bonus tracks offer a slightly different take of "Five Long Years" plus a fun, solo-filled jam session ("Memphis Heat").
If you're at all interested in blues-rock collisions or want to hear some inventive piano work, this is a great album to check out.

Quite few, but some gems,

I love Memphis Slim, but things doesn't work quite well with the Canned Heat company. I think that this offer doesn't start until we get "Mother Earth", where we find a pretty version of this ol' time classic. The one and really diamond is in fact the next track, "You Don't Know My Mind", very very cool.

I am definitely biased,however this is a very listenable album.Purists will have their say but there's still life of a new type in the Canned Heat yet.Good solid piano and some tasteful guitar solos make this a good value listen,not a classic but eminently listenable.
