I love Tom Arndt. Perhaps the soft spot is because he is from my state but the way hecan look at things and give a slice of life is amazing. Men are not a gender you usually fist think of when gathering for a cup of coffee or socailizing but that is what makes this book so interesting. Taken from a wonderful cross section of the contry.

This is wonderful look at men from primarily blue collar America. The images are classic and timeless. One of my favorite photographs is on page 46, it is entitled "Young men drinking beer, Foley, Minnesota, 1981." For me this image captures an era and an area where I grew up. While I don't know the guys in the image, they look like the guys I knew when I was younger. Tom does a great job of capturing everyday life in a way that makes you proud to live it. The printing matches the overall quality of his own printing. It's a good book to have.
