3.0 out of 5 stars I enjoyed reading this fine collection., March 7, 2010
This review is from: Men on Men: Best New Gay Fiction, Volume 1 (v. 1) (Paperback)
This book is a time capsule of gay life in the late 80's. Written by gay men for gay men.

With the talent of the infamous Violet Quill writers: Robert Ferro, Michael Grumley, Andrew Holleran, Felice Picano, and Edmund White--sans Christopher Cox and George Whitmore--editor George Stambolian collects the most popular voices of gay fiction of the period.

Told from a variety of perspectives, these eighteen short stories provide a glance of life in the 80's, as the gay men fought and lost to AIDS/HIV, loved, and danced.

I am not a good short story reader, I find them inadequate and not long enough to really create characters and tell stories, but I must admit I enjoyed reading this fine collection.
