Over the years I have seen many sci-fi movies adapted for Saturday morning cartoon television. MIB is one of the best. Why? Because it's done smart. The show wasn't taInted with any of the trappings you normally see on what most TV execs would label a kid's show. The script was well written, the animation was stylistic and of good quality, and the voice talents were excellent. Combine all this and you get a show so good that even if there never was a MIB hit movie it would still be a great cartoon.

This VHS contains a measly two episodes, but hey. It's better than nothing. The first ep is The So Long Syndrome, which coincidentally is the premier episode for the series. Basically you get Jay getting himself into trouble and having a whole race of aliens out to get him. The second episode is The Irritable Bow Wow Syndrome, which is actually the third ep in the first season> I have no idea why they skipped the second ep (The Buzzard Syndrome), which was a good one. Anyway TIBWS is about an alien trying to get his hands on a Void Density Core, which Frank (that alien Pug dog)had swallowed.

Both eps are entertaining with my only real gripe being why not put in more? Why not add The Buzzard Syndrome and the fourth episode for good measure? A standard VHS tape can hold two hours of good quality video. Don't fall for the 110 minute runtime because these eps clock in at about 22 minutes apiece.

All in all this is pretty much the only way you're gonna get the MIB animated series at this time. They made two other VHS collections and that was it. DVD's have been released in the UK and Australia (about seven episodes on a disk), but no DVD collections have been announced for the United States, but one can only hope. If you have to get your MIB fix and can find a decent copy for a good price then by all means go for it. It's a great show, hands down.

It was fun to watch them carry on the series. It is a little jarring from the original but all in all its not bad.
