People go through life oblivious to the reality around them. As pointed out in this movie, at one time everyone knew the world was flat; and now everyone knows we are alone in the universe. But what if we are wrong? Who will protect us? "Men in black used to be the term for the bad guys. This movie shows they are our last line of defense. This is a fun movie and there are many great actors to add to the fun.

Every one is so busy watching Tommy Lee Jones make his stoic looks and Will making one-liners that they miss the person that hold it all together. In addition, that person has to do act throughout the movie in an Edgar suit. Have you ever tried one on? Vincent D'Onofrio has to look unnatural and act natural. This was one movie where I felt sorry for the bug. He even drops his snack (Linda Fiorentino) near the end. It just shows that bugs lead a hard life.

If you are into recent bug movies, look for "Out There" where they mention bugs in a rug

As a family we enjoyed this set of dvds. They're just as funny and entertaining as when they were released. Great for those who enjoy adventure, science fictiion and humor all rolled into one.

We thoroughly enjoyed this movie. Amazon made it easy to purchase. We have always wanted to own it and now that a third movie is coming to the movies soon, we can see how it fits together. This a good family movie

Purchased this movie for my son for Christmas. I have 2 boys ages 10 and 14. They love the monsters, the guns, and the action in this movie.

Just as much fun today as it was the very first time, if not more so. Tommy Lee Jones is brilliantly cast as the stern, no nonsense G-Man straight out of the 1950s, a role he was seemingly born to play, and while new recruit Will Smith was badly typecast at the time, there's a very real, palpable chemistry between the two that transcends what roles they may have played before or after. Further complimenting the scene is a dynamite supporting cast, with Rip Torn amplifying all things stoic and ancient about the government, Vincent D'Onofrio stealing every scene as a not-so-subtle wolf in sheep's clothing and a typically dry, sarcastic performance from Linda Fiorentino. The jokes are still funny, even though I remembered most of the punchlines, the adventure is a perfect blend of introduction and elaboration, and the pop culture asides still work fifteen years later. Even the special effects aren't aging badly, which is a rare blessing considering the rapid advances in CGI since it was in theaters. Enthusiastically funny, rambunctiously fast-paced and occasionally genuine, I was surprised to see it's still firing on all cylinders.

Of course it is helpful if you enjoy SiFi movies.

This has always been one of my all tine favorite movies. Will Smith and Tommy Lee Jones are a great team.

I'm taking this opportunity to opine not only to say that the movie is great fun, it's worth buying to check this out, but also to say that sometimes the Full Screen edition of a movie is a thousand times better than the Widescreen. Sometimes a studio or director decide to film in 35 (Full Screen) and then somebody decides to chop off the bottom and top of the movie in order to make it Widescreen and thus remove like 25% of what one can see. Other movies are filmed in Widescreen and then mutilated to Full Screen for the DVD edition by chopping off the left and right sides. There are tens of thousand such cases which I can't mention here 'cause of lack of space. There are even cases in which nor the Full Screen or the Widescreen give you the whole filmed image of the movie. The bottom line is that I BOUGHT THIS EDITION BECAUSE IT IS FULL SCREEN AND I HAVE MORE IMAGE TO WATCH. The only way to discover this, for the time been, is by having a movie on a DVD and compare the image whenever one can catch the movie on TV. Don't always trust the info on the back of the DVD box.
Again, Tommy Lee Jones and Will Smith team in a sci-fi action comedy that can entertain just about anybody. Excellent CGIs and FXs as well a touch of human feelings and the possibility that ... we're not alone.

This is Will Smith's best movie ever. Great special effects and very funny. The only reason this was rated PG-13 is that they don't stop swearing, beginning to end. GO WILL SMITH!!

I loved this movie. Will Smith is hilarious in it, as is Tommy Lee Jones. It is great for everyone, even the younger crowd. This version is the basic version meaning: no special features. If you are okay with that, or don't want to spend more money, then I would recommend this version. However, there are a lot of pretty cool special features including the music video by Will Smith on the 2-disc version which I would recommend buying instead. I bought this and am satisfied with it although it would have been nice to see the behind-the-scenes stuff.
