Loving True is a winner!!!!, December 25, 2008

I got this book as an early Christmas present because my family knows how much I love Marie Rochelle books. First, I love the cover. Just having the woman on front was a brillant idea. It give me the chance to make Hayward look anyway I want. I decided he would look like the actor Brad Johnson(who I think is such a hottie!)
Loving True is an outstanding read. True Williams is a woman with a hard past to overcome because the man she was in love with used her and tossed her away without a second thought. Not one of her friends stuck around after all of the lies came out against her. So, she packs up everything and goes out to Montana to live and get a "identity." She wasn't interested in any man until she saw the man next door.
Hayward is fighting his own demons and thinks he needs to stay to himself and isn't even thinking about having a woman in his life or bed until True appears next door. He wants her the second he sees her getting out of her car.
This couple is amazing. I can't believe how this author made me hate Hayward one minute and I was in love with him the next. This is a book that I plan to read again before the month is over. I love when an author can take you right into the story.
I would tell anyone to buy this book is they want a good read they can curl up in the bed with at night.

A Poorly Written Unbelievable Mess, July 4, 2009

Okay, I read the other reviews and thought I'd finally found a book that lived up to the hype. Uh...no. I don't know what everyone else read, but the book I read was not good at all. Not only were the characters underdeveloped, but the storyline itself was rushed and unbelievable. Whoever "edited" this was asleep because there were numerous grammatical and usage errors.
Not for one second did this author make me believe that these two characters would suddenly fall head over heels with each other in 5 pages. True Williams had NO backbone whatsoever. One would think that as "traumatized" as she was by her ex-boyfriend that she would have been a little more cautious in the beginning with Hayward. And Hayward was entirely too pushy and borderline obsessive.
Their so-called relationship was superficial and not at all romantic. Every character in this book had the extraordinarily annoying habit of talking to themselves to the point of distraction. I have the other 2 "The Men of CCD" books and they're just as bad as this one. Underdeveloped, rushed and poorly written. I gave this book 2 stars instead of 1 because it's an interesting idea that was horribly executed. Don't waste your money.

Hayward, oh Hayward, October 5, 2009

Hayward was WHIPPED and it was delightful. The heroine was just CLASSY (not one of those neck rollin' "oh, no you didn't" chicks). They were perfect for each other. Hayward, at moments, was a filthy liar; but, it was understandable. I LOVED the cover and the characters.
