Loving True is a winner!!!!,
This review is from: The Men of CCD: Loving True (Paperback)
I got this book as an early Christmas present because my family knows how much I love Marie Rochelle books. First, I love the cover. Just having the woman on front was a brillant idea. It give me the chance to make Hayward look anyway I want. I decided he would look like the actor Brad Johnson(who I think is such a hottie!)
Loving True is an outstanding read. True Williams is a woman with a hard past to overcome because the man she was in love with used her and tossed her away without a second thought. Not one of her friends stuck around after all of the lies came out against her. So, she packs up everything and goes out to Montana to live and get a "identity." She wasn't interested in any man until she saw the man next door. Hayward is fighting his own demons and thinks he needs to stay to himself and isn't even thinking about having a woman in his life or bed until True appears next door. He wants her the second he sees her getting out of her car. This couple is amazing. I can't believe how this author made me hate Hayward one minute and I was in love with him the next. This is a book that I plan to read again before the month is over. I love when an author can take you right into the story. I would tell anyone to buy this book is they want a good read they can curl up in the bed with at night.

A Poorly Written Unbelievable Mess,

Okay, I read the other reviews and thought I'd finally found a book that lived up to the hype. Uh...no. I don't know what everyone else read, but the book I read was not good at all. Not only were the characters underdeveloped, but the storyline itself was rushed and unbelievable. Whoever "edited" this was asleep because there were numerous grammatical and usage errors.
Not for one second did this author make me believe that these two characters would suddenly fall head over heels with each other in 5 pages. True Williams had NO backbone whatsoever. One would think that as "traumatized" as she was by her ex-boyfriend that she would have been a little more cautious in the beginning with Hayward. And Hayward was entirely too pushy and borderline obsessive. Their so-called relationship was superficial and not at all romantic. Every character in this book had the extraordinarily annoying habit of talking to themselves to the point of distraction. I have the other 2 "The Men of CCD" books and they're just as bad as this one. Underdeveloped, rushed and poorly written. I gave this book 2 stars instead of 1 because it's an interesting idea that was horribly executed. Don't waste your money.

Hayward was WHIPPED and it was delightful. The heroine was just CLASSY (not one of those neck rollin' "oh, no you didn't" chicks). They were perfect for each other. Hayward, at moments, was a filthy liar; but, it was understandable. I LOVED the cover and the characters.

This is a really good inter-racial romance novel. I loved both of the main characters. Being honest in relationships is the best thing you can do. I enjoyed how vunerable the hero was in the story. Great story.

True and Hayward, sittin' in a tree...,

I liked this book a lot. Hayward is a handsome businessmen who is bitter over his past and True is his sexy, ebony, new neighbor. I won't give up much more but I enjoyed this simple love story. There of course is an antagonist whom the heroine and hero must deal with, but that's about in every book. It wasn't overly erotic and it wasn't overly mushy. It was just right. I thought the characters had a lot of chemestry and it introduces two characters for the next book. Another part of loved about the book was Hayward's alpha male personality (he wasn't overly possessive) I think anyone who loves interracial romance novels will enjoy this decent read. Enjoy.

I like the book and I'm reading the second one in the series, but to be honest, it was not what I expected. I guess I wanted more action. It took forever for the main characters to have sex, but I'm suppose to believe that the lead male for head's over heel in love with her? I am not saying that you can't fall in love before being intimate, it just didn't seem very believable. But since I love series, I will read the rest. I'm on the second book and it is a little better.

Loving True,
This review is from: The Men of CCD: Loving True (Paperback)
True Williams was forced to leave behind a great job, loyal friends, and her entire life after she was betrayed by the man she loved. After failing to rebuild her life, she lands in Montana, living next door to a hostile but gorgeous man. Just when all her attempts at being neighborly fail and she's on the point of giving up, Hayward Campbell turns the tables on her.
Hayward struggles daily with painful memories. He distances himself, alone and isolated in his house with his work - until he first sees True. From that point on, he can't resist her allure and the challenge of winning her. In opening his heart to her, he discovers that everything he thought was lost has always been waiting for him. Loving True is a sensuous drama that would work quite well in movie format. There are countless slice-of-life vignettes involving True and Hayward that bring them closer together and reveal their innermost depths. This allowed me to become as emotionally entangled as they were. I can appreciate Marie Rochelle's ability to carefully construct a novel that is contemporary with elements of early romance. She subtly addresses various concerns such as intolerance in such a way that I was aware without the story being overshadowed by the ugliness of it. Instead, she uses it as a way to demonstrate Hayward's connection to the woman he loves and his willingness to protect her. True reveals her strength and strong sense of self without anger and self-victimization. Although Ms. Rochelle describes her work as "erotic", I wouldn't use the term. Her love scenes are steamy, but after reading Marilyn Lee, I feel that term is too strong for this author's work. Labels are limiting, and I feel that Marie Rochelle has created a strong niche for her writing in this genre that distinguishes her from everything else. Patrice Reviewed for Joyfully Reviewed

I liked the book. There are real issues in her books and I think thats what makes me like it more. Its not cliche either. A lot of bw wm stories are just that, there is the race issue, and blah blah blah, but not this one. Sure that was mentioned but it wasn't the main focus and I like that.

The Men of CCD: Loving True,

This is a good interracial love story. I enjoyed the ups and downs of this love story. True at times is to soft a female. But it is balance by the love she has for Hayward. He is all male and sexy to boot. I love this story and look forward to reading about his brothers love affair.
