Dr. Gene Getz is the host of "Renewal Radio" heard on stations across the U.S. as well as online worldwide. A church-planting pastor in the Dallas Metroplex since 1972, he is also president of the Center for Church Renewal, pastor emeritus of Chase Oaks Church (formerly Fellowship Bible Church North) in Plano, Texas, and an adjunct professor at Dallas Theological Seminary.

Unfortunately this book did not keep my interest. It was a lot of reviewing of the plot without saying much. I have enjoyed Gene Getz's writing in the past, but not this time.

"Jacob: Following God Without Looking Back" is another installment by Gene Getz in the Men of Character series. This title is on Jacob, whose original name meant "Trickster" and whose actions got him into a lot of trouble.
The book consists of 13 chapters with the following titles: 1. It All Begins at Home 2. A Tricky Plot 3. A Beuatiful Novella 4. The Great Deception 5. A Born-Again Experience 6. Back Home Again While the book is more tailored towards the lay reader, pastors can also benefit for their own personal lives and also for sermon preparation.
