In Depth Study-This is It!,
This review is from: Men of Character: Joshua: Living as a Consistent Role Model (Paperback)
If you really need an in-depth study of Joshua, Gene Getz has done it. After reading his study of Joshua I have now purchased three more books from his Men of Character series. The books are great for daily devotional time or for just study. I found out some really interesting and life applicable things from the studies. Each chapter ends with principles that Getz has discovered. Afterwards, he challenges you to discover which principles are most relevant to you. The series is good and Joshua has really been a blessing to me. Get a copy, you will be blessed!

Good Introduction to the Life of Joshua,
By Michael Taylor "Michael Taylor" (Indian Trail NC) - See all my reviews (VINE VOICE) (TOP 500 REVIEWER) (REAL NAME)
This review is from: Men of Character: Joshua: Living as a Consistent Role Model (Paperback)
"Joshua: Living As a Consistent Role Model" is part of the Men of Character series by Dr. Gene Getz, a pastor out of the Dallas, TX area. The book is focused on the period of Joshua's life when he led the Israelites into Canaan (the Promised Land) and the various battles in which he led the Israelites to victory.
There are 13 chapters with the following titles: 1. Joshua's Basic Training 2. A Call to Courage 3. An Encounter With a Prostitute 4. An Example of Faith and Humility 5. A Cure for Fading Memories 6. Remembrances: More Than Rituals! 7. The Walls Came Tumblin' Down 8. A Terrible Tragedy 9. Experiencing Victory God's Way 10. Back to Basics 11. Caught Off Guard 12. God Will Not Forget You (this chapter was my favorite and focused on Caleb, the only other spy besides Joshua who gave a favorable report). 13. A Man of God Speaks The book is appropriate for both the pastor and layperson. Read and be encouraged to be a true person of God. Highly recommended!
