really enjoyed, April 29, 2010
This review is from: Men of Danger (Mass Market Paperback)
I was pleasantly surprised to have enjoyed 3 of the 4 stories in this anthology. Lora Leigh is the author that had me purchasing and I figured the Lorie O'Clare could be hit or miss. I wasnt familiar with the other 2 authors.
Lora Leigh
This was continuing the story from WildCard with Sienna's(the crazy chick)widowed husband Rick Grayson. Rick is the town sheriff and he helped the elite ops team take down Sienna his wife and the other hunters. Rick is focused on getting his life together for his son and had no intentions on acting on his attraction to Hannah his son's teacher. His hand is forced when someone close to him targets Hannah because of their feelings for one another. This was a nice little slice to add on to the elite ops and was great up until the end which was a bit abrupt. 4 stars
Red Garnier
Ok I've never heard of this author but her story was AWESOME. I hesitate to say I may have enjoyed it more than Leighs contribution. Paige Avery was in an accident and lost her memory of a select segment of time. Zack Rivers is a police detective that was in love with Paige before she lost her memory. Paige came from a wealthy family and her mother wisks her away from town so that she will not have to live with the reminders of all she doesnt recall. Poor Zack, part of what paige doesnt remember is their secret romance. I wanted to cry for poor Zack several times. Paige comes back several years later to clear out the house she and her mother left and runs into Zack after a stalker attack. This was sooo good and the author did a great job with the characters and plot. This is usually a problem with anthologies so I was batting a thousand at this point. 5 stars
Alexis Grant
so maybe my luck ran out because I couldnt read this story about the musician past the first page. I'm sorry not to have a review on it but it was boring and didnt drag me in to read past the first page. I may read it later and edit this review accordingly
Lorie O'Clare
O'Clare finishes the anthology with a story from her FBI series. I actually thought this was pretty decent too. Ashley Jones is a police officer recently divorced. There have been a series of death in her town. The vitims are females that wear a unique bracelet. Chase Reed is a rebel FBI agent that just so happens to be in town for r and r but he is really looking for clues and a way to work on the mysterious case of young women popping up dead. Chase convinces Ashley to use him behind the scene. The killer is pretty obvious so there is no guess work here but that was ok. What bothered me more than anything with this story is that Chase and Ashley took longer to realize what was really quite obvious from several significant incidents. 3.75
all total I give this 4 stars because it is so rare to get an anthology that was as good as this one. I really felt like each author submitted a decent short story for this

Publisher goof?, May 2, 2010
Does anyone else think the publisher left out a chapter or two from "Tempt Me" by Alexis Grant? Where is the ending of the story?
The rest of the anthology was pretty good, particularly "Reckless" by Red Garnier and "Hannah's Luck" by Lora Leigh.

3 great reads one bomb., June 9, 2010
This review is from: Men of Danger (Mass Market Paperback)
I love Lora Leigh and this was another great read by her. It was great to see what had happened Rick from "Elite Ops." This was my first time reading Red Garnier and Lorie O'Clare and they were good stories, very heart warming. Alexis Grant's novel was AWFUL!! What kind of ending was that?? You don't even know what happened between the heroine and leading man. It was a poorly written story without good character development. Whoever decided to add this story to the anthology gets 2 thumbs down!! Read this book for the other three authors, but skip Grant's story, it is not worth your time.
