really enjoyed,
This review is from: Men of Danger (Mass Market Paperback)
I was pleasantly surprised to have enjoyed 3 of the 4 stories in this anthology. Lora Leigh is the author that had me purchasing and I figured the Lorie O'Clare could be hit or miss. I wasnt familiar with the other 2 authors.
Lora Leigh This was continuing the story from WildCard with Sienna's(the crazy chick)widowed husband Rick Grayson. Rick is the town sheriff and he helped the elite ops team take down Sienna his wife and the other hunters. Rick is focused on getting his life together for his son and had no intentions on acting on his attraction to Hannah his son's teacher. His hand is forced when someone close to him targets Hannah because of their feelings for one another. This was a nice little slice to add on to the elite ops and was great up until the end which was a bit abrupt. 4 stars Red Garnier Ok I've never heard of this author but her story was AWESOME. I hesitate to say I may have enjoyed it more than Leighs contribution. Paige Avery was in an accident and lost her memory of a select segment of time. Zack Rivers is a police detective that was in love with Paige before she lost her memory. Paige came from a wealthy family and her mother wisks her away from town so that she will not have to live with the reminders of all she doesnt recall. Poor Zack, part of what paige doesnt remember is their secret romance. I wanted to cry for poor Zack several times. Paige comes back several years later to clear out the house she and her mother left and runs into Zack after a stalker attack. This was sooo good and the author did a great job with the characters and plot. This is usually a problem with anthologies so I was batting a thousand at this point. 5 stars Alexis Grant so maybe my luck ran out because I couldnt read this story about the musician past the first page. I'm sorry not to have a review on it but it was boring and didnt drag me in to read past the first page. I may read it later and edit this review accordingly Lorie O'Clare O'Clare finishes the anthology with a story from her FBI series. I actually thought this was pretty decent too. Ashley Jones is a police officer recently divorced. There have been a series of death in her town. The vitims are females that wear a unique bracelet. Chase Reed is a rebel FBI agent that just so happens to be in town for r and r but he is really looking for clues and a way to work on the mysterious case of young women popping up dead. Chase convinces Ashley to use him behind the scene. The killer is pretty obvious so there is no guess work here but that was ok. What bothered me more than anything with this story is that Chase and Ashley took longer to realize what was really quite obvious from several significant incidents. 3.75 all total I give this 4 stars because it is so rare to get an anthology that was as good as this one. I really felt like each author submitted a decent short story for this

Does anyone else think the publisher left out a chapter or two from "Tempt Me" by Alexis Grant? Where is the ending of the story?
The rest of the anthology was pretty good, particularly "Reckless" by Red Garnier and "Hannah's Luck" by Lora Leigh.

I love Lora Leigh and this was another great read by her. It was great to see what had happened Rick from "Elite Ops." This was my first time reading Red Garnier and Lorie O'Clare and they were good stories, very heart warming. Alexis Grant's novel was AWFUL!! What kind of ending was that?? You don't even know what happened between the heroine and leading man. It was a poorly written story without good character development. Whoever decided to add this story to the anthology gets 2 thumbs down!! Read this book for the other three authors, but skip Grant's story, it is not worth your time.

I rarely purchase anthologies - because I like full length stories. However, I purchase anything written by Lora Leigh. I also have enjoyed reading Lorie O'Clare. I haven't ever read anything by the other two authors.
Hannah's Luck by Lora Leigh (4 stars) If you read Lora Leigh's Wild Card (Elite Ops, Book 1) from her Elite Ops series then Sherriff Rick Grayson will be familiar. His wife was Sienna, the best friend who betrayed Nathan Malone/Noah Blake's wife, Sabella and tried to kill her. - You don't have to read this book to get the back story - this novella is stand alone. This was the best of the four stories, but I would expect no less from this author. She pairs the sheriff up with a kindergartner teacher. If you liked her Elite Ops or Tempting SEALs series you will like this. Reckless and Yours by Red Garnier (3 stars) I really enjoyed this story, I would love to see it in full length - this author could extend this story into a series. The Zack character was awesome. Tempt Me by Alexis Grant (1 star) This was the weakest story in this book. I was very disappointed with the character development. I didn't invest anytime in reading this, I more or less skimmed the surface. The storyline seemed intriguing but the character ruined it. I need to feel something for them in order to care about the outcome. The story also came to an abrupt end, as if the author hit the word limit and just stopped writing. Love Me `Til Death by Lorie O'Clare (3 stars) This is was in her normal style and very much like her typical books. I was sad to see this story end. I have enjoyed most of this authors book (if you like her other books - then you won't be disappointed.) Overall, I was very happy with my purchase.

I really enjoyed this novel. Like I said in my title, I really liked the Lora Leigh spin-off that tells us what happened in Rick's life after he has to kill his wife, the cocaine sniffing WHORE. I like that he found a women that he could love and that loves his son. I also like the sex scenes in the novel also. The other stories were great to. I highly recommend this novel to people who enjoy mystery novels with love stories and sex scenes. I give it 5 stars. I would elaborate on the rest of the stories in this anthology, but I do not have it in front of me and I am on to my next of many other novels I read daily.

"Hannah's Luck" by Lora Leigh
Sheriff Rick Grayson is one of a very few people who actually know what happened the night his wife died. Rick also feels that some loose threads were not clipped that night. Since then, Rick has focused on raising his son and running his county; if only he could figure out a way to take care of his attraction to the sexy kindergarten teacher he's wanted for a long time. Hannah Brookes doesn't know what she did to turn off Rick, but it seems to follow right along with her type of luck. Now she needs his help because someone tried to break into her house. Rick knows that Hannah was a target long ago and it appears now that one of those loose threads has decided to take out one of the few people Rick will kill to protect. Time is running out fast; can Rick figure out who is threatening Hannah before it's too late? "Hannah's Luck" gives Rick another chance at the love he wanted with Hannah. I was very happy to see that Rick received his happy ending because he had been a hero who had been left hanging. As Hannah and Rick tried again, I hoped that this time their love would win. I was very surprised at just how close the danger was to them, a person I would have never guessed. Lora has another winner in "Hannah's Luck" and of course, another great ending. "Reckless" by Red Garnier Paige Avery has come back to her hometown only to be drawn back into something that she can't remember. Actually, Paige can't remember anything after the night her father was killed and she almost lost her life. All she knows is that she needs to do something--something she can't remember. Zach Rivers has waited along time for Paige to come home. Zach is aware that something strange went on the night of the accident but that is only one of the reasons he's waited for Paige. Now he is a police detective but back then he was just a boy from the wrong side of town who had fallen in love with the town princess. Zach wants Paige back in every way, and he is willing to give her the time necessary. However, they soon find out that someone else is not willing to let Paige remember anything and just wants her dead. Can Zach and Paige discover the truth before it's too late? "Reckless" proves time and distance doesn't always affect what the heart feels. Paige moved away from her hometown to recover from a deadly accident, but Zach never gave up hope that Paige would come back to him. I thoroughly enjoyed watching Zach and Paige find their way back to each other. While I thought the ending was good, it seemed a bit rushed to me. However, I do know that this sometimes happens with some anthology stories. "Reckless" brought two hearts back where they belonged - together. "Tempt Me" by Alexis Grant Anita Brown has had enough and is going to make some serious changes in her life. Anita works hard in her career as R&B star Queen B and is tired of her family not doing their jobs. So, on the cusp of a new USO tour that will take her into several war torn areas, Anita has decided to hire a new security team - one ran by an ex-Delta Force man. Zachary (Zach) Mitchell is on leave from the Delta Force, so when a sick friend asks him to take over security for Queen B's tour, he accepts. Zach has heard many things about Anita but during the tour, he finds out she is very different from the stage persona and the rumors. Passion begins to rise, one that both Anita and Zach try to control unsuccessfully. While on tour, Anita and Zach discover that something very strange was going on and it involved not only Anita's safety but Zach's sick friend as well. When this tour is over, some hard truths are going to be found, when the air clears will it find Zach and Anita together or will they be part of the fallout? "Tempt Me" takes a look behind one artist's USO tour. Anita is tired of being everyone's meal ticket - from her manager on down. Zach firmly believes that family and close friends are to be helped if you can. When these two first met, it seemed that their outlooks on life were very different, however I discovered that they were actually closer than ever as I read on. I was not surprised when the passion between them could not be ignored. I loved how both Anita and Zach got to the bottom of things while finding a way to keep together. "Tempt Me" proves that if you want something done right, you need a Delta Force man and one determined woman. "Love Me 'til Death" by Lorie O'Clare Chase Reed is the bad boy of the FBI who has come home on "vacation." Chase knows that he doesn't always follow the rules, and when he gets home, it's further proven when he helps a local detective track a serial killer. Ashley Jones is a homicide detective assigned to two homicides that involves a hard-to-get drug. The last thing she expects is help from a rogue FBI agent who has figured out that a serial killer is at work. Another thing she doesn't expect is the flash fire attraction that happens between her and Chase - one that can't be ignored. Chase and Ashley are working fast in hopes that no one else is killed. Clues show the killer might be closer than either Ashley or Chase thought. When the final card is turned, will the killer get his final kill or can Ashley and Chase bring him down? "Love Me `til Death" has Ashley and Chase working hard at finding a serial killer. I could see Ashley's frustration when Chase shows her a clue that none of the homicide detectives had put together - a clue that proved unrelated deaths were the work of one person. I could tell they would be a hard to beat team and that had nothing to do with their erotic encounters. "Love Me `til Death" combines suspense and the erotic in an engaging way. It was also wonderful ending to a great anthology. Men of Danger is a collection of tough, rough and sexy men out to protect their women, mostly with their help. I don't think it could have been planned out better with Lora Leigh opening, and Lorie O'Clare closing this anthology. Usually, with anthologies I find one or maybe two stories that I really like. This time I could tell that all four authors had great stories and kept me engaged from the first page to the last. An anthology that does not disappoint, Men of Danger brings strong men and women together with passion and a touch of danger. Jo Reviewed for Joyfully Reviewed

Red Garnier's story "Reckless" is worth getting this anthology. Leigh's and O'clare's stories are ok but Garnier's is the real gem.

First of all, I've got to say, I'm getting tired of Lora Leigh. This makes me sad. I've been a huge fan for years and always bought all of her books. I didn't even buy her last "Nauti" book. They are all the same plot , the same characters. I will say that at least this time the heroine was not a 30 year old virgin like most of her heroines are. And the sex scenes are still smokin! This story was just ok. But, the second story "Reckless" was heavenly. I have never heard of Red Garnier before, but I will definitely be reading more of her. This story was spectacular. I loved her writing, her characters (especially Zach). I agreee with the reviewer that said that this story could be a whole novel on it's own. It was lovely. The last two stories were good but not great. That being said, this book is worth the money just for Red Garnier's story. It will touch your heart.

This review is from: Men of Danger (Mass Market Paperback)
I won't describe the stories as others have already done that. Lora Leigh and Lorie O'Clare did a really good job as usual. This is the first Red Garnier I have read and it was enjoyable. I don't normally like stories where the hero and heroine are separated for years, however, this one was well done. As for Alexis Grant, this is the first time I have read her also and while the story was slow to start it had potential. The ending was horrible and really didn't end. She left you wondering what happened. Did the heroine stayed with the hero or go back to her old boyfriend that she made a date with in the final paragraphs? Did she finally stop the gravy train for her family that was sucking her dry? What did she finally decide to do with her life and career? All of that was left hanging and that doesn't work for me. Due to this one story I gave this 4 instead of 5 stars.
