About the Author

Michelle McKinney Hammond is a dynamic conference speaker, freelance writer, producer, singer, and voiceover talent, as well as the author of four previous books: What to Do Until Love Finds You, Secrets of an Irresistable Woman, The Genius of Temptation, and His Love Always Finds Me. She is the president of HeartWing Ministries and cohost of Aspiring Women, a popular talk show that airs in San Francisco and in Chicago , where Michelle makes her home.

From AudioFile

The program offers advice on how a woman can stay balanced while looking for a man. In a cute and spirited reading, the author pitches her conviction that the care of a woman's soul ought to be the work of God, not the buff guy she thinks she wants in her life. Like the best programs on romantic relationships, she pushes personal integrity, self responsibility, and a healthy skepticism about all that glitters in a relationship. There are a lot of biblical stories in this program, but they won't overwhelm the secular listener because the narrative has a street-smart, beauty-parlor familiarity that's just plain fun to hear. The sheer emotionality of the presentation is worth the price of admission; there's nothing here not to like. Michelle's new book is her best yet. She lays out the terms on which we can choose to work with God as He brings about the best in our lives. If we work with God, He'll make sure the right bus stops on time, and doesn't pass us by! We can decide whether to submit our actions to a higher authority, or we can pretty much choose to go our own way, which will result in missed connections!

I am not an avid reader and so a book must grab my attention in the first couple of pages or it's on the shelf - this one got me on the introduction! I read the first 3 chapters without stopping (not even for bathroom breaks!). Michelle tells it like it is and brings scripture to light for the single woman. She shows you why failed relationships should never have been started, giving you the motivation to get your life on track with God so when the 'right bus' comes along, you'll be ready for it. I highly recommend this book to single women of all ages! I even bought another book to give a friend so I can re-read mine again!

I wish I could personally thank Michelle McKinney-Hammond for this book. Her book has made me confront issues in my spiritual life that I had been making excuses for- and ultimately making me realize that putting any man above God is Idolatry. My life had been all about what I wanted and what I wanted God to do for me. Michelle McKinney Hammond has encouraged me to focus on what God wants and what I can do for him. She also brought to light things from the Bible I hadn't noticed before. THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU for writing such an awesome book!

I had just departed from a 5 yr relationship when I read this.

It set my feet on a higher spiritual plateau. The title of the book was deceiving (as most of her titles) and had me thinking I was on my way to my next relationship. However, it set my sights on not just the right man, but THE MAN, the Lord!

It was refreshing, empowering and encouraging. Despite the fact that Mckinney has never been married do not let that discourage you. She comes from the only knowledge that matters and that is the WORD. Everyone has not been destined to get/be married; also, who else to minister to someone except the one who is in the same season with you...what an encouragement. Its such a catch 22 - to always hear women bemoan their singlehood and not having a mate but they have not excelled in the principle things (that is delighting themselves in the Lord and learning to please Him.)

What an embarrassment to God for women/men to continuously pursue a thing so much that we forget about all He has blessed us with and who He is and the provisions He made and the great love He has for us to send Jesus to die for us.

Its like saying "Lord, you are not enough, you haven't done enough" and throwing a temper tantrum...ok, off my soapbox - sorry.

Back to the book, it helped me to fall more deeply and more intimately in love with the Lord. Another book that helped me with this is McKinney's book - The Secrets of an Irresistible Woman A MUST READ.

Michelle McKinney Hammond is truly inspired by God! She brought up so many 'issues' I needed to address in my life. The book was bought, by a friend, for my birthday. It is the best present ever! After being a widow at 17 and three failed marriages.... I finally understand that what I was looking for in a man...can only be found when I surrender to God. No man can fulfill the need in me, only God can do that. THANK YOU MICHELLE FOR FOLLOWING YOUR CALLING! MANY HAVE BEEN BLESSED BECAUSE OF YOU!

This book is for all the wonderful women out there looking for a great guy. God has THE RIGHT MAN picked out just for you! But you can't find the right guy if you're with the wrong one! Don't settle!!! Easy read. Uses humor to bring home the point! I've purchased several copies to give to my friends!

This book has changed my way of thinking about dating, courtship and marriage. More importantly, It has underlined the importance of my relationship with the creator as numero uno! I recommend this book to EVERY single woman who desires THE RIGHT mate or believes that they are called to be married. I NEVER do book ratings or reviews but this one deserves it! This is my fourth reading from this author and I have not been disappointed yet! A great book to re-read again and again!

I have never read a book that had me laughing, crying, and rethinking my position as a woman at the same time. The book brought out thoughts you were thinking, but to afraid to be honest about in yourself. It was informative, and gave me alot to ponder.
I would highly recommend this book for anyone, who has been in quite a few unsuccessful relationships. It gives you a new perspective of life that you knew, but maybe put aside or ignored.
The author was honest enough to let us know her feelings, and realize we all share those feelings. This book is an A+.
