After 28 years I had to replace my super badger brush because the handle was disintegrating (the brush itself is still in great shape). Although the Men-U reviews I read all used shaving cremes, I have found the Men-U brush also works very well the Crabtree & Evelyn shaving soap I use. Overall, the Men-U is an improvement over my old super badger brush. It has a slightly different feel than my badger brush. The tips are softer and produce lather little better, but it has a slightly stiffer feel overal. It holds water differently too. It seems to drain the excess faster and yet holds enough to make a great lather. It seems to take less effort to get the right amount water. So, if like me you don't want to drop $100+ on a high-quality silver badger, the Men-U is worth a try.

I got this brush for my boyfriend, and he loves it. He actually looks forward to shaving now. The brush holds water well and lathers cream nicely. The fibers in the brush were developed specifically for that purpose. Best of all, it is cruelty free, unlike badger hair brushes. The sample of shaving cream that comes with it is not great, so don't be discouraged. Just get a better quality shaving cream, like Taylor of Old Bond Street.

This is a great brush, I really like it. It is better than a badger brush. My only complaint is the price. I think you are paying for the brand name "Men-U". I also bought an Omega synthetic brush model 640652 also made in Italy. A much nicer looking brush for exactly half of what I paid for the Men-U brush. They both seem to have the same exact bristles. The Men-U is still a good price but you can do better with an Omega Synthetic brush.

I thought this looked like a pretty good brush but when I tried it I found that I didn't like it at all. It was too long to begin with and I didn't like the feel at all and I didn't care for the sample shave cream either. I guess you can't beat a good natural brush for a great shave. For me this was a waste of money. I wouldn't recommend this to anyone.
