5.0 out of 5 stars Men Women & Children are the reason I am on the dancefloor
This CD is one of the best out there. I bought it the minute I got out of the mosh pit when they opened for motion city soundtrack and I was listening to it that night when I got home. They know how to rock, they know how to make the stage their own, and their songs are to die for. They are who they are and I wouldn't change them for all the world. Get this album and...

1.0 out of 5 stars Rediculous
Saw them live and I almost peed my pants I was laughing so hard at how pathetic they were. Someone needs to tell them that disco died in 1978.

5.0 out of 5 stars I'm actually surprised..., March 25, 2006

I bought this album on a whim because I enjoyed the guitarist previous work in Glassjaw. While I was expecting "Head Automatica Ver. 2.0", I instead got a fresh take on modern dance and disco...but it doesn't suck in the least bit. wow! I ate my words and it tasted so good. Now let's dance...

5.0 out of 5 stars Disco Fever, April 11, 2006

This album is amazingly fresh, and will be on repeat in my CD player for months to come. I'd like to lounge around in my leisure suit while listening this album, but the minute I sit down to lounge, I have to get up and bust a move. Start to finish this is an amazing album.
All aboard now, the name of the train is the hurricane, and it's sweeping the nation.

5.0 out of 5 stars Perfect little niche., April 6, 2006
This review is from: Men, Women, & Children (Audio CD)
If you enjoy off the wall music from artists like Architecture in Helsinki, Head Automatica, Dogs Die in Hot Cars, and/or !!! (pronounced Chk, Chk, Chk) you may find something to love in Men, Women & Children.

Disco infused pop rock that catches your ear and doesn't let go easily describes what you'll experiance from Men, Women & Children. Standout hits from this album include every single song, but the single turns out to be Dance in My Blood.

Pick this album up right away. Dissapointment will not be a sentiment you will have to deal with. Just watch out for our devilish little apes on track 7 "Monkey Monkee Men."

P.S. - See this band live. One of the best shows I have ever seen, EVAR.

4.0 out of 5 stars Glassjaw gone disco, and it works!!!, March 27, 2006
This review is from: Men, Women, & Children (Audio CD)
Very cool record, but you have to get used to it first. It's loud and in your face like hardcore punk, mindmelding with disco elements...musically, it's over the top, but the hooks (and there are plenty) take a while to grab hold...once they do, watch out, cuz this sucker will be on repeat play.

Think a thuggish straight take on the Scissor Sisters sound, like they took Jake Shears and put him in a headlock, but it all becomes infectious and irresistible, like the straight and gay guys finding something in common and the ability to party together and have a load of fun...who woulda thought???

As Glassjaw, they set the standard and influence of Long Island emo and melodic hardcore punk. But, after 2 albums and their Warner Bros debut, they split into 2 camps, Warners keeping both acts on their roster...Daryl Palumbo's Head Automatica and now, Men Women & Children, both seem to have dumped hardcore and decided to have fun & want to dance.

MW&C wrote all the songs and on this record, they even collaborate with the Canadian husband & wife team of Our Lady Peace's Raine Maida (who co-produced a track or two) and singer/songwriter Chantal Kreviazuk (who sings female harmony), and it's all one blast of a time. From opening track "Dance In My Blood" to closer "Vowels", put it on at your next party and prepare to have fun.

One dangerous uh-oh moment...I wouldn't be surprised if MW&C's lawyers get contacted. Why?? Track #3, the song "Photosynthesis (We're Losing O2/Oxygen)" has a chorus melody clearly ripped off from that dance classic "From The Grace Of God Go I", I forgot who does it, but the song is well-known, and MW&C could very much get into trouble, due to lack of songwriting credits.

Just a heads up...great fun record though.

I really dig this album. I'd totally like to check them out live. There's a bunch of tracks I'd like to hear 'dance' remixes of

Whoever the guy was who said he saw them live and they sucked is delusional. It took me a while to get into the CD, but now it's on repeat in my CD player and this band rocks live. They get the crowd going and have unbelievable energy. How can a pop rock performance with a light show and a bubble machine go wrong? It is pop rock with a electronic bent, though, so if you don't like that, you won't like them. "Messy" is one of the best songs on the album.

5.0 out of 5 stars Amazingly refreshing..., March 22, 2006
This review is from: Men, Women, & Children (Audio CD)
This album is incredible. Men, Women, & Children produce a completely original sound (to me it's kind of like Scissor Sisters meets disco, but it's fantastic). I would especially recommend "Messy" and "Photosynthesis" though beginning to end this album rocks my socks.
